How to run smoother
Hi, as of right now, fallout 4 runs moderately smooth with some parts where its not so smooth. I've tried uncapping fps which as you know ♥♥♥♥♥ with the game. I know my pc is fully capable of running f4 smoothly. Is there any settings that i can turn on to make the game run smoother? Also for some reason my fps is capped at 72 not 60 and when it drops to 65 or lower thats when its no longer smooth.

Saying that running above 60 FPS makes the game look smoother is LOL.
game was made in 2015 after next gen was released?

Well that is interesting.

I played this on a legacy PS4 for over 700 hours and it ran like crap in the Boston areas like it was in slow-mode when the action got intense.

Thankfully Fallout 4 on PC doesn't do the same, but I use a lot of performances mods/tweaks. The FPS count in Boston on PC is high 40' to high 50's using Steams FPS counter.

Thats because engine ticks are tied to fps. If you were to run at 120 fps game is basically running at double speed. Interpolation makes no sense because that would mean that when you have 40fps then game engine is running at 20fps which would cause whole game go to slow motion. Let alone blurriness it causes.

I mean most games were capped to 30fps on console at that time. Gamebryo or creative engine goes to 60fps without faking frames but on console its just limited for "reasons x, y, z"

DISABLE V-SYNC.
AMD: Enable Enhanced Sync. recommend globally.
nVidia: Enable Fast Sync (edited as Freesync is G-Sync).
This game also does not like SLI/Crossfire, disabling improves FPS.

Yes, it can.
Nope tested with various performance fixes, mods, no mods, lowest settings in ini, highest in ini.. 60 fps isnt achievable. I mean i guess maybe one of those intel cpu with extremely high single thread performance and 2080 or 3080 could do it on lowest game settings but hard to say given how poorly fallout 4 runs.

Lol nu fps is called at 60 with my 1050ti

I now run 45-60 fps in the most busy areas, 80-180fps everywhere else. Used to be 15-25fps in busy areas & 45-80fps everywhere else.

I don't know what a 3090 and threadripper can do, but on anything close to a "normal" gaming PC you're going to get drops below 60fps in downtown Boston. And with god rays on ultra, you're probably going to get drops in heavily forested areas too. It is indeed an engine and optimization issue.

Yeah honestly boston isnt my games cryptonite. Its more so looking at the ground for loot where it drops.
