Must have mods
I'm currently reinstalling FO4 out of a mood for the god knows number of playthrough.

I believe I got everything I need, but maybe you guys know some more mods that I might have missed or never ever seen.

The only rule is that it must be immersive and lore friendly

Most impactful for me:
NPCs travel (traveling traders and roving bands of enemies)
Visible companion affinity (self explanatory)
True Storms (actual rainstorms, radiation, fog and environmental overhaul)
Craftable armor size (utility that lets you upgrade armor from light / medium / heavy)

This mod list never crashes and there are no bugs. All high quality sim friendly none game ruining.

This mod list raises difficulty level but is balanced only by having multiple companions at least some in PA, making squad type gameplay a must.

*TrueStormsFO4.esm - turn on max difficulty and dump the holotapes
*InstitutePowerArmor.esp - Institue guards in their own new kind of power armour
*Hollywood Bullet Tracers.esp
*Hollywood Lasers.esp
*CROSS_Wasteland_Ronin.esp - usable Samurai armour and makes ghouls tougher
*EFF.esp - multiple allies the way it was meant to be
*RealTroughs.esp - Brahmin deserve better than dirty bathtubs
*StrongerRaids.esp - stronger settlement raids
*PumpeSpawnPoints.esp - be prepared to be surprised but in a sim friendly way
*MoreEnemies.esp - this and the one above result in great gameplay
*FeralGhoulOUTBREAK.esp - must have adds zombie hordes and sim friendly
*Yona_Weapon_DefenseGun.esp - pipes were made to be modded out and this is the mod
*Pip-Boy Flashlight.esp - atmospheric must have
*llamaCompanionHeather.esp - best companion mod?
*FO4 NPCs Travel.esp - adds npcs having coffee at Drumlin dinner and much more
*BogartNick - Gen 2.esp - just a good mod
*LR_APCTransport.esp - a sim fast travel is must have this is the best i found

Must have a load accelerator mod to it works and is 10x faster.

A mod that adds the key words for no power armor damage and no ammo use to companions so they are like Danse and settlers is also must have for a proper PC version of Fallout 4 survival which i did myself in the CK as well as other similar mods.

These are more ease of life things rather than game changers, but worth having IMO:

Durable Vertibirds
https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/2857
So they aren't dropping like flies.

Darker Nights:
https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/191
The glow from lights on settlements is amazing.

Faster Terminal Displays
https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/937
20x version works great, you'll wonder how you played without it.

Keep Radiants in the Commonwealth
https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/25934
This mod intends to keep all radiant quests assigned within the commonwealth - in the commonwealth. This means that Scribe Haylen won't be sending you to Far Harbor to retrieve the elusive BoogerTron device, and Mr. Tims won't be sending you to Nuka World to clear out raiders. The real goal? You don't have to start any DLCs before you intend to.

More Where That Came From - Diamond City Radio Edition
https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/637
This mod adds 111 new lore-friendly, thematically appropriate songs to Diamond City Radio. It no longer modifies the base game's songs in any way.

Pre War Safes
https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/3306
Ever wonder why that locked safe behind the Police Chief's desk, or the one in the Prewar businessman's office always seemed to have some homemade pipe weapon in them rather than a proper store bought weapon? It bothered me enough that I made this small tweak.

Maybe not lore friendly like you asked but a good way to spice a new game up:

Worldwide Ghouls
https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/37957
This mod simply adds more Feral Ghouls to the world. I made this mod because i wanted more ghouls in the commonwealth without risking issues in my save or conflicts, I wanted more ghouls in the world but not so many that it changes the game as a whole.

No Rail Road Ballistic Weave
https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/12975
In short, this mod adds a holo tape that when read, will give access to the Ballistic Weave recipes. The holo tape is located within the Army Installation beneath the "Abandoned Shack". (In the glowing sea).
I am aware, that there are already atleast two mods that do this, but I personally felt like adding a way that was a little more lore friendly without breaking the 4th wall.

Great adventure mod, old but very good. Also: check out other mods by the creator: Undernier
Tenpines Bluff one and Sunshine Tidings one, both great adventures.

I legit have 1300 hours vanilla game and the only mod outside bethesda ive ever used is the load accelerator.

I have all the creation club stuff, settlement ambush kit, military backpack and autonomous power armor are must haves i think.
