There are no gorillas outside the institute
There are, in Nuka World.
You won't be able to capture them in cages unless you order the evacuation when you are going to wipe out the Institute or doing the Main quest with the Institute.
Because some of the Institute scientists working in the Bio-science department in the Institute are not wiped out. Your reason for ordering the evacuation is to not commit mass murder as Preston warns you about.
I also do it when I do the BOS or RR Main quest. And Maxston does not seem to be upset I have released unknown number of synths into the Commonwealth. lol.
But if you feel better about it, don't order it. :)
I don't see the BOS going every nook and croony to look for synths. If they find them or are hostile the BOS will whack them, but after killing the Institute the remaining synths are no longer an existential problem. And take second fiddle for securing the Commonwealth for the BOS.
Actually the Supermutants are the more diminishing problem. The Institute has not been able to make more of them for a while. And they can't breed.
I will console myself with the Shabani troop of the Higashiyama Zoo

The source of synths isn't exactly gone if the scientists remain. Just as the scientists take synth gorillas with them, the overall knowledge of synths also remains, and with plenty of synths around as samples, all it really takes is rebuilding the machines to start making them again.
The Brotherhood's attitude seems to be based on dealing with pre-war technology that no-one can currently reproduce, while the Institute built up most of their technology themselves.
