i find if there are to many start scripts the game farts out.
I do have some Creation Club stuff that I got a while back, maybe it's all too much? I'll try figuring out how to Disable some of those and see if it helps. Thanks for your input
I had no idea you could make Slocum's Joe stores!!! So cool!
Yes it's fun, I like it so far! You can design the stores (buildings) and put them together, as big as you want, or just throw down the Shop and go at it, there's the Fryer to make your own Donuts/etc - and some have nice buffs like Charisma and 2% XP for a time, etc. There are uniforms (formal-ish and rough-ish versions) and seating and signage; and everything looks suitably 'fallout 4' ish (rough/worn textures, etc). Fun as hell lol
[[I'll update in a post just below right away (not wanting to 'bump' the thread excessively, but to keep my little Update on it's own]]
For my issue, I tried 'deleting' the Slocum's Joe CC data (in the Data folder/directory and the Creations folder), reDownloading the addon in the CC menu - it seemed to all detect and work ok, but it didn't ask me to 'redo' the Quest for the Slocum CC again (I thought I'd have to go get the Franchise kit again). It seems the Vendors are still 'bugged' - the issue is that the Slocum's Joe Store vendor only seems to sell what they have on their personal inventory (items) and not sell and donuts, etc. At first, it seemed like they were just selling "General Store" items (Junk, etc) but now it's almost blank.
On the 'good' side of this issue, I looked at other Characters and they all have operating and fully functional Slocum's Joe Store and Vendors; they all are selling Donuts galore - that's great at least!
So just this one character (newest one) seems to be bugging out... I'll try some things like loading an older Save until it works, or see if I can Console the Quest again or something. Just updating in case I find anything that might help others that run into this (I found some people asking about it in forums, but no answers... one question was a year old and the other was two years old).
Also I misunderstood and thought this was base game content I had somehow missed, not CC content. It sounds good though.

Before installing it make a save game, try, if the character is updated with this mod, leave it installed in the game.
Solved!
The issue seems to be solved now, although I did have to also simultaneously solve an issue with the Vault -Tec Workshop DLC; which may have been related...
For the Slocum's Joe CC content/addon, I found I had to do an extra step of "script cleaning" - that is, not only deleting the associated files, but also cleaning up references to them (since they are gone) - done by a utility called "ReSaver", found at Nexus Mods .
So, what I did was three parts:
» in the Data folder of Fallout 4, deleted anything with "slocum" in it - I assumed these are the data files and graphics that are part of the addon
» in the Creations folder of Fallout 4, deleted anything with "slocum" in it - I had to open each ".manifest" file one-by-one (with Notepad) to see what it was referencing inside - I assumed these are the listing and references for the addon
» using the ReSaver utility from Nexus Mods (made by Mark Fairchild), note I did not run the Fallrim Tools itself, just the ReSaver (newer?) portion; it 'cleaned out' the Scripts for any addons and Game Mods that might be missing - I assumed this removed the references to the addons I deleted and some other things 'built into the game' that I missed just manually deleting things alone
After all the above was done, I then did just a couple more steps within the game:
- The game will show the CC content/addon as not present, so I started up the game, Loaded a save and Saved the game manually, then exited (to have a 'clean save' of not having the CC content I deleted).
- Started the game again and went to the Creation Club menu to find the addon and Install/Download it again (it came up as not being installed anymore and needed to be Downloaded)
That's it - then the game reloaded the Data files itself and I went into my Character - and the Slocum's Joe Quest/Mission came up again, just as though I never did it. I went to the area and found the Franchise Kit, and built some Slocum's Shops in a Settlement - and they were all able to sell me beautiful, buffingable, Donuts - yay!

On a related note, I ran into an issue with Vault 88 (Vault-Tec Workshop DLC), where I couldn't Fast-Travel into the Vault anymore... the game would CTD (Crash-To-Desktop) without any warning or message, just poof, gone. I tried FastTravelling around, loading an older Save, walking there manually, nothing; I just couldn't go to Vault 88 anymore.
To solve this, I did the above Steps - only of course, with the Vault88 files (files that said "DLC06" and "Phoropter" and other Vault88-related things in the data files themselves). I also ran the ReSaver utility at the end. It didn't seem to solve it this time, so thinking that it might be because it's not really CC content it's "game content" (by the original developers), I simply went into the "Manage DLC" section of Steam (under Fallout 4) and un-checked the checkbox for the DLC (which 'uninstalls' it). Then I started the game up - it said that the Content was missing, fine. I manually Saved the game, then closed the game, and went to the DLC Section again and put a checkmark in the Vault-Tec Workshop DLC. It re-downloaded the Vault-Tec DLC in Steam and then I opened the game and my Character - and the Vault-Tec Workshop (Vault 88) was back! Only... RESET lol - I had to go there and start the DLC all over again - so I pose that as a potential warning to people that have problems with Vault 88 (eg. can't go there, like me), it is possible that doing these steps will 'reset' your Vault, and you'll have to start it all over again. At least it's all working now [but perhaps I should investigate if something like these cases happens again - perhaps the drive the game is on is dying or something, corrupting files, heh]
Thanks again for the helpful Replies, all! Marking as Solved.
