Cait Quest - Benign Intervention (Still Bugged?)

Hi, I have a problem with this quest, I't doesn't trigger. I tried for hours almost everything I found after after I searched for a fix, but nothing works (based on console commands), and yeah, I don't have an old save for that. So after all of these years, another fix was found?

I failed to mention I play mainly not using Vats. I admit that. So that is a good point. I forget at times many players do use Vats as their primary way to play the combat in the game.

I did not say it was not good for "anyone". You injected that on your own. I have never knocked anyone on how they play or use of mods. If you think I was being inconsiderate, that is misjudging on your part.

All you would had to say was, it is a good perk if you use Vats, as your main way to play combat and I would have agreed wholeheartedly.

Just because you may not see the use of a perk or an ability does not mean it is useless to everyone.

It is a VERY big loss to someone trying to make the build I showed earlier. That Bloody build that is very popular for Fallout 76.

The Trigger Rush ability increases AP refresh so I did not think I had to explain to a veteran player what AP is used in VATS. You have nobody but yourself to blame for that burn.

Setav is the wrong command. You want to use modav.

Setav sets an actor value to that value permanently. It will ignore any future value changes.
Modav modifies the actor value by an amount and still allows the value to be changed later.

I can run encumbered from Abanathy´s to Red Rocket without taking a break or slowing down. I can also trigger AP resets in VATS, before I run out of AP. The perk has absolutely no benefit to me, whether in or outside of VATS. I still like Cait´s story and quest though.
Different players may have different views and preferences.

Good luck with your issue OP. I am done with this topic because it looks like people would rather tell what perks you do not need along with how they play than help resolve your issue.

That am I am not going to sit here arguing with someone over the correct console commands to use. Both you and the person arguing are going to have to learn that lesson on your own.

anyway ty guys for helping, all of you. i don't want to finish her all missions and everything just for the perk, i just like the idea of maxing every character and i really wanted to playing their missions and to see their dialogue,story.. but yeah, that's it

That quest triggers at 750 affinity. Have you tried using this on her:

setav ca_affinity 749

Then taking a chem or drinking some booze or whatever to make the game "naturally" trigger at 750?

I suggested the same, but OP said she/he did without success. Strange.
But do not let Bored Peon see that, because according to him, you would then stay at 749 affinity forever.

Yeah I found your post. It's modav that causes issues with ca_affinity values. Setav is fine as long as you don't cross over the 250 thresholds going forward (skips the triggers).

I've played with modav ca_affinity a LOT in my games because I'm not a fan of... most of the companions but I do want their perks.

OP was directed at the wiki but did they specifically try:

To trigger Cait's quest after the bugged conversation, one can also:
Get rid of any companion (do this by talking to them and choosing the appropriate dialogue branch),
Stand in front of Cait,
Open console and execute setstage 1666c5 0 .
The player character will be teleported to a location near Vault 95 and "Benign Intervention" quest will immediately be triggered to start, so one can see it in their quest log.
Talk to Cait and add her to the player character's party,
From this point you can be sure that if you follow all other advises in this section you will not encounter any bugs during the "Benign Intervention" quest.

I mean, unless your game is screwed up all kinds of ways, that should force start the quest.
