UI background offset glitch
I've tried fixing my resolution, switching between fullscreen/windowed/borderless, playing with and without mods, tried using the fallout 4 configuration tool mod.

anyone got any ideas on how to fix this?

edit: Also if it helps, my loading screens have black borders like so: https://imgur.com/CxPnXtR

edit2: My pip boy also looks a tad zoomed out

the problem shouldn't be caused by the mods as I have tried playing without them. But here's a list anyways:

- CBBE
- BodySlide & Studio
- FO4 Configuration tool
- Eyes of Beauty (all in one)
- Darker Nights
- Killable Children
- Enhanced blood textures
- Faster Terminal displays
- Improved map with visible roads
- Full dialogue interface
- Longer power lines
- Quieter Settlements
- Power Armor Animation Changes
- Unofficial patch
- Easy to see glowing stuff
- perk magazine fix
- ponytails (Azar)
- Almost perfect CBBE BodySlide
- Rad-Ban Eyewear
- Loving Piper
- Def UI
- Commonwealth cuts
- True reporter Piper
- Better Third Rail
- Better good neighbor
- F04 Easy Girl
- Diamond City Expansion
- Welcome to Fallons
- Vivid Fallout (All in one)
- Full Dialogue Interface FIX

Interesting. I know 99% of the mods, they shouldn't be causing this.
Has this been happening since you downloaded FO4? Or did it happen all of a sudden? And if so, did you do something before that?

Did you play with the FOV values or any INI value for that matter?

Side note: Full Dialogue Interface is outdated. Use this instead: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/27216
You might also want to remove the last mod (the fix) since it's no longer needed.

thanks for the heads up on the mods. I set the resolution to 1920 x 1080, but that was AFTER the problem showed up. I did change the FOV to be 90 though (using Fo4 Config tool). This was before the problem.

Not sure what is wrong with the first screenshot things look normal.

The black border on the loading screen is a mod. A true Window issue would not have the the icon in the lower right in the proper position if black was an actual Window size border.

the first screen shot has the green backdrop behind the text offset. it's a lot more noticeable during dialogue and when you get a notice and stuff.

Oh now I see it when I zoomed in.
It is like my green background behind the text window for Subtitles that I hate.
That is a mod issue. For me Horizon did that @#$%. I think Horizon has a dialogue mod built into it.

My guess is the mod settings or the placement and size is not matching your game resolution. I think that is a load order issue, I think your control mod might need to load after the UI mod. The settings you change are not taking effect in the UI mods. You should double check the compatibility and load order instructions for all your interface mods.

You need to do disable tests to find the mod responsible.
Disable all mods and load the game, it should be gone.
Then slowly add in a couple mods at a time to see which one triggers it.

I would delete the ini files and let the launcher regenerate them.
If that didn't help, I would check the mod files and see if any of them contains ini files. If you found one, open it and see what it contains and whether it's the cause.

I had this issue for a long time and it affected my power armor hud too. In the end the root cause was I had followed some bad directions on the install page for a 21:9 widescreen mod that instructed me to add FOV settings to the [interface] section of my .ini files.

Once I removed those FOV settings everything was good and aligned again. I do still have FOV settings in the [Display] section, though.

I was also using a power armor HUD scaling fix in the INI that wasn't working correctly as a result of this incorrect FOV .ini thing.

Bro, I didn't realize I had this issue for over 2 years. It just clicked as I read this. I did the same thing to my FOV. I'll respond again if this doesn't work, but otherwise, assume ur advice worked. TY

I have the same thing. Haven't played in a while, just updated the game. No mods.

Just in case someone else runs across this issue, I had the same thing, but no mods. The suggestion of deleting the .ini files worked for me. I went to the game folder in my files, searched for ,ini and deleted everything that populated. Then, verified the integrity of the game files and re-downloaded the missing files. Poof, on next launch; no out of sync text boxes.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
