Oh goodneighboor
Really, an hour trying to find the entrance. Why make a settlement only approachable from one side if not to force the fight on the freedom trail (i dodged it), Spent an hour wandering around looking for the freaking door. Diamond city by comparison much easier, you walk right into bunker hill.

Same thing happened to me the first time. I got up on that freeway overpass and went around and around trying to find a way to Goodneighbor's entrance. Supposedly you can jump from the right spot, but I couldn't find it. In a way it makes sense, they make their entrance hidden due to all the dangers in the area.
Yes it really is a PITA to find. I still get lost finding it with each new character even though in theory I already know the way.

Approach from the north and look for the Corner Bookstore. Then hop over the heap of rubble and you're home free.
Having said that, given the dangers all around, it makes sense to make it hard to find and it makes sense to only have one entrance.

What bugs me is that you speak to people who know where it is and how to get there, but none of them can tell you how to get to it or even lead you there.

It's possible that when you tell Nick to "meet you there" you might be able to actually follow him? I've never tried it though.

Nick shouldve lead you, i also opted out bescause preston is in love with me but still wont give up his perk at this point. Its holding up my questing.

The most sure fire way is to go during daylight to the park street station on the freedom trail. In the light you can see a few signs and its practically a straight shot east.

The problem is that friggin freeway loop and wall, its a maze and your hit with rust devils, supermutants and gunners everytime you fast travel. I actually had diamond city security at one point fighting gunners because thats how lost i was.

That's funny.

Yes that elevated highway is a real trap to get you lost. Though apparently from a certain point on that highway you can just jump down into Goodneighbor. Though I've never done that myself.

I have jumped into Goodneighbor. But at the time I was not trying to get into Goodneighbor. lol

I didn't think it was all that hard to find. But admittedly one of the hardest of all locations to find. I always have more trouble with Hangman's Alley.

For what seemed like years I had no idea what people were talking about with Hangman's Alley. Then one day I found it and then once you know where it is, it's easy to get back to I think.

when you look towards the directionof GoodNeighbor form the overpass there is a woden fence if you can make it over that fence it will transition you to goodneighbor as if you used the door.

It is tough to do unless you have PA with a jetpack upgrade. There is another spot that will do the same that is easier to get to but involves getting to the higher overpass and going down through a wrecked train onto a building then jumping into goodneighbor.

or you can just watch one of Tomatoanus speedruns on youtube, he uses the jump over wooden fence to enter Goodneighbour

Can i check affinity levels for companions, or see if there is a quest holding up the perk. I got godsworth perk in like 12 hours. No one else is giving it up
The Wiki will tell you which actions they like, the affinity actions are quite different between companions.

If you go Talk - Relationship, you will get a general idea of their current affinity level.

i chat them up, they chat me up. Never seems to advance. Level 40 now. I know some companion perks are quest locked, like nicks and danse. But preston? Some of them are annoying as heck to please too.

This is one of the easier ways to get affinity with some of the companions.

Lockpicking

Gage, Cait, Deacon, and Piper like this. MacCready likes this, but only to locks owned by others, whereas Piper dislikes picking owned locks. Strong dislikes picking any locks.

This can be repeated by using a safe that has a terminal attached to it, opening the safe and then using the terminal to lock it again.

Preston basically likes you to be a goody-two-shoes.
