Dangerous Minds quest bugged, stuck on "explore Kellogg's mind"
I'm on the quest Dangerous Minds. I was done exploring Kellogg's memories in the memory lounger so I interact with the TV and exit the lounger. Now I know I'm supposed to talk to Dr Amari but the objective is stuck on "explore K's memories". I've tried reloading to a previous save, before the memory sequence, and this time I don't quicksave during the memories, and I also picked Vigil's file up. I've tried this around 3, maybe 4 times and it hasn't fixed the bug. The objective's still stuck on "explore K's memories" even when I was done doing so, it doesn't update to "talk to Dr Amari" or anything like that.

I know I can skip this quest using the console command but I've read online that if you do that, the next quest, The Glowing Sea, will be bugged and you'll have to skip it and activate the quest after it, Hunter/Hunted. TGS sounds like a fun quest and I'd like to try it myself, I don't want to skip it.

Yes, I have mods. I have around 35 to 40 total mods installed, from all 3 major mod sources - Nexus, Bethesda and Creation Club.

TL;DR: Fallout 4, PC, Dangerous Minds, stuck on "explore Kellogg's memories"

I read it, I tried reloading to a previous save and didn't pick up any Inst. weapon, still bugged, though.

Ok, as much as I don't like using the console to advance quests, it might be all you can do at this point.

First, make a new menu save before using the console. That way if you make a mistake you can load that save and undo what you did.

Open the console[~] and type SetStage MQ202 310 then hit Enter and close the console[~]. That will advance the quest to where you talk to doctor Amari again.

Make sure you leave a space after SetStage and after MQ202.

Thanks. I finished Dangerous Minds using console commands ("setstage mq202 320"), then tried to trigger TGS using setstage mq204 15 but it won't start. Still need help.

Edit: I skipped TGS and started Hunter/Hunted. Also, I started Emergent Behavior and Long Time Coming using console commands too. Hopefully my game won't be bugged again, and I'm unhappy because I skipped TGS which sounds like a very fun quest :(

I heard some people used the TV under the stairs to get out but that was after i fixed it and i didn't want to reload just to try again.

What really worked for me was to force The Glowing Sea quest to start, that teleported me into the machine in The Memory Den and made my character exit it. I've been doing main story a while after doing it without any issues or problems so...Seems to be a perfect fix.

Make a new save just in case, then open console commands in the memory and type SetStage 0006b500 0

Yup, even now in 2021 this saved yet another playthrough. Much thanks Trollzy, wherever you are.

Just tried the Trollzy fix, 2023 in VR. DIdn't work for me but I think that is because my quest was not stuck due to bug but due to me. After reloading a previous save that cost me like 4 @(&_@*#! levels, I made sure that in every one of Kellog's memories I first hit the "Access Memory" button and then listened to the whole schpeal about the memory. I knew it had worked as soon as I got back to the memory lounger because my guy automatically got out of the chair and Amari said something like be careful you may be woozy. I think that the first time through I had tried to rush it somewhere and the quest was truly not complete so the console commands did not help.

2024 and this still works

I found quite a silly way to fix this as well. None of the setstage options were working for me. I made a hard save, shot the doctor in the head and she went down and the quest advanced. Immediately after this I reloaded the save to before I had shot her and I was now able to talk to her. Seems this repairs the scripts for some reason

There's an easy fix.
Just hit the doctor with your gun, and then immediately put your gun away so the fight stops.
It will progress the mission and you can speak to her normally.
Worked first try for me.
