The Slog
Hi folks
The slog appears to be a bit of a enigma apart from the obvious its the construction of what appears to be a cafe and the other one appears to be some sort of I am not sure what. it could be a suppose is some sort of look out post or maybe a beauty spot viewing point, what intrigued me was the open ended platforms that look a little like diving boards, these are only my observations.
The real question is did Bethesda have something planed for it or not it seemed a lot of work for something that appears to nothing more than a peace of scenery .
I was wondering if this area was originaly meant to be part of the settlement but at some point in time they decided not to use it,

There is one other possibility explanation perhaps the settlement was meant to be a lot bigger something along the lines of sanctuary this would allow a much larger swimming pool the structure with the open platforms was in fact diving boards placed at the deep end of the pool with relaxation areas hence the 2 tear construction the upper levels the diving boards and the lower areas's being relaxation areas and the cafe building being exactly that a place where patrons could by refreshments.

what are your thought on the rather odd settlement?

As an update to the slog clean and simple mode opens the diving bard construction and the cafe which makes a great trading post for the slog. I think It would be great if someone in the modding community used my ides to restore the slog to what i thought was how it it may have been originally designed when you think about it makes a lot more sense than its current design.

The high dives are right over the river, so it probably receded or washed out in a flood. You see those platforms at some state parks, sometimes they're out in the lake a bit. If you use the expanded settlements mod, the cafe and down to the river will be accessible. I can't believe nobody heard that dead guy in the cafe trying to get out, of course that could have happened before it was settled. That dead settlement (northwest) was probably why they squeezed the size down, if they did.

Yeah it's a nice site. Rivers do move in 200 years.

There is a relatively famous golf course on the border of Saugus and Lynn. (The real Saugus Iron Works is an historic park.)

There is a song by the Toy Dolls "Deirdre's A Slag" and The Slog's trader is Deidre. Coincidence?

But - it's Holly who's the slag?
