Any way to make companions more stealthy?
I'm sneaking just fine, but there are often situations where my companion will give away our location.

Is there any way to make companions more stealthy?
Is there any way to make companions not run ahead?
Is there any way to make companions keep a bit more distance so as not to entice enemies to throw grenades at us?

Mods... the most popular companion mods cover all this.

Use the synth companion and feed him stealth boys? Idk, best stealth is solo stealth.

Just told my companion to "wait here" so they wouldn't rush ahead. Patrolling super mutant spotted them and opened fire - they won't fire back. WTF?

So, sneaked near the companion and told them to "follow me" - they instantly start to engage the enemy. Told them to go to some place further away - they keep engaging the enemy.

*sigh*

Companion AI in Fallout 4 is the worst.:steamsalty:
i found a mod that gives me a better companion than any in the vanilla game.
you might go look at the description for her and see if she sounds good to you.
she is not editable with console comands likr the others, and yet she has a terminal that you build in your setlement that allows changes to her tactics in combat and how she behaves in stealth mode.
her name is heather and is not always chattering in your ear, but occasionally has something interesting to say.

here is a link and you can read about her there.
i rcomend her.

In Vanilla, Stack AGI equipment, Muffle and shadow as much armor as possible, and keep their armor weight down when you can't muffle it.

Curie is worthless at sneaking though, unlike all other companions, she has no sneak perk (Most companions have at least 2, Deacon and Dogmeat 4)

That covers sneak.

Unfortunately, there's no ability to set their tether range so they keep more distance without manually issuing orders.

Leave them at a settlement otherwise they are not helpful and always getting upset.
use "companion can sneak" mod.

however if you have mods which change companions' appearances, they will not be compatible with each other. this can be fixed using FO4Edit, by dragging the "Doesn't affect stealth meter" flag to the appearance mod.
