Where tf did Macready go?

So I wanted a little break from having Macready around so I dismissed him and instead of sending him to a settlement I pressed cancel to send him to good neighbor. But I can't find him a n y w h e r e. Can anyone help me?

eh check around all your settlements just to make sure because sometimes when you cancel they go back to the last place you sent them at least thats what has happened to me on console.

Well thats happened to me to i sent piper back to her office went to get her later she wasnt there walks over to sanctuary and i see her just kinda standing there.

He "should" be in the room where you originally found him, but... Just use a vault-tec console for the VIP tracker and make sure you turn the quest on.

It use to take some time until they are back. But not more than a gametimeweek. Normally more likely a couple of days.

That's another thing I thought, but whenever I fast travel Npc's always get there before I do

Try sleeping for a day , then fast travel somewhere else then look for him .

After I sent Macready back to good neighbor I did a lot of running around with preston and recruiting settlements so I'll check again

It's a terminal from the vault tec dlc. Being on XBox shouldn't matter. It's in the same menu as the normal terminal just gotta scroll over a bit. You get it just by having the dlc installed.

It's under the Power-> Misc tab IIRC. It's a white terminal added with the Vault Tec Workshop DLC with its own standing cabinet, which has extra options to assign jobs or place a marker over the heads of companions.

More importantly imo, in has a flat screen. I also just realized you can't place one in Mechanists Lair so I can't just unassign all my caravans...
