2. Did you force anything with console commands prior?
3. Have you tried the console commands to fix the quests?
If he was playing on sruvival it basically saves over your saves. So basically on survival setting you can only go back two recent saves. All the saves past that are usually so far back it aint worth going back that far.
I literally spent almost 3 weeks just watching videos and tutorials about mods/modding, before I was hooked completely. NEVER ever had I imagined the sheer amount of joy I would be able to get from any game, some minor bugs and issues with confilcts between mods, set aside. But I did not expect to simply download mods and adding tons of tweaks, cheats and retextures without the occasional headache. The story and quests in Fallout 4 never really interested me as much as the ability to build my settlements, they were more of a thing to do, whenever I got burned out on building. I should probably note that setttlement is a bit of a stretch, since in reality, i mostly built gargantuan houses/structures for my own character. None of which would be categorized as lore friendly I suppose, not by ppl that are more into that sort of thing, but I always felt, if I am to roam the wastelands and spending time searching and scavenging for bits and pieces, do I not deserve to come home to a more beautiful place to kick up my feet? Of course I do....as I am contemplating another play thru on survival mode...<i just spent an hour and a half watching a scathing review of FO3> I feel a bit glum, since I will no longer have access to my homes and will have to build more.
I will miss my structures at Starlight Drive In and Spectacle Island the most, they took about one month each to get them just right, I finished Starlight Residence, Spectacle Island is built as far as main structure, but still needs some work done as far as furnishing and decorating.
I got side tracked, lol...sorry...the SAVES...yes, I am not sure what happened, in the data folder, I did find many saves in the back-up folder, however when i launch the game <via F4SE launcher>
and choose the "load" function, I only had acces to game files no older than 2 hrs...a total of 4 saves. After exploring forums and youtube, I realized I am guilty of a noob mistake by using quick save and exit save...rarely did I do any hard saves prior to having issues in Boston area with CTD. Again, the CTD's I expected fully, I run this game on a pretty ♥♥♥♥♥♥ pc...I am amazed I have been able to play it at all, since I only have a Nvidea GT 640. However only problem with drop in fps I have, is when I open workshop menu on Spectacle Island, but to give you a general idea of the size of my home, I used at least 4k glass, concrete, have a huge outdoor pool with waterfalls and coubtless lights, all of which are on at all times. I used the cheat terminal mod to increase my building size x4 after I discovered that the base structure alone exceeded twice the build level already...and nobody likes to sit in a drak unfurnished house, right?
I often wondered if perhaps my builds are to blame for some of the issues, or perhaps my mistake was trying to make all the damn factions happy and doing their bidding, I simply can not bring myself to tell ppl no...no even in a game. I was partial to the Minutemen, as they are focused on helping common folks, I guess I am a bit of a romantic, in thinking we will all come together as ppl after a disaster to make sure life goes on for all of us. Railroad was a close second, I just felt as if the synths deserved a shot to live their life on their own terms, as long as they wouldnt interfere with human lives, BoS was too...."structured" and militarized...I'm all for the greater good, but not if it means I have to sacrifice my individuality. Institute I finished simply because I could not bring myself to go against my "son"...I hated evey single last quest and certainly moreso after Shaun died of his bout with cancer, but at that point I could no longer nuke the institute, which is why I kind of want to play again and perhaps find a way to not destroy 2 factions and if I have to, at least not the ones I can identify with the most. But in any case, it will always be the building of settlements or player homes, that will occupy me more than quests.
I started New Vegas few weeks ago, I may switch between the two so I don't get too burned out on either one. I just dont much care for FNV as far as graphics and the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ way the chars look, but I also haven't really done much modding with it, I think i have 5 mods only on NV, whereas I run 93 out of 121 on FO4.
Well, i definetly got off track, it's too bad I am not equipped to broadcast or know how to do a video on youtube to show off my builds...I would love to give proper credit to the modmakers and show how I use their hard work in my own personal games. I am truly grateful to have moved from PS4 to the PC and I am planning on investing a good bit of coin into a proper machine, but that's a process in itself, right now I am leaning towards ibuypower builds, not sure the model, it's about 2700 bucks and runs the latest Nvidea 1080 Ti...something something...I am not that savvy with PCs yet, but this game alone with the modding has expanded my knowledge and horizons...a great side effect from "just playing around with a game"
Thanks again for responding, the forum/community here seems to be very helpful and insightful....it's rather refreshing. Happy gaming all!!
It all depends on who replies, lol. I was bored and came back to check these forums and seen your post. I like helping people and I usually avoid the dozens of lame troll topics usually up.
Yeha I do agree PC is better. I played Fallout 3, Fallout New Vegas, and Skyrim on X-Box. The lack of console commands and mods was what convinced me to swithc to PC, on top of PC has WAY better grpahics.
