FO4 doesn't fit screen
I downloaded F4SE and it screwed something up. I tried all kinds of things and even went to the length of uninstalling/reinstalling FO4 and IT DIDN'T WORK!!!!!!!! How do I fix this? Changing Resolution does nothing. Aspect Ratio is grayed out unless I use Windows/Borderless in which case it totally doesn't fit the screen at all and I get what is in the 2nd picture anyway. My last step is completely FFRing my system and I REALLY don't want to do that.

Help!

This is what my screen SHOULD look like:

(notice how the circles in the corners fit very nicely, everything is well sized and centered)

But this is what I have:

(what I'm pointing out here is how the circles in the corners are cut off and how its just too zommed in)

I am 100% confident that it has to do with this following post by another person. I managed to make it WAY too big, but I can't get it smaller. What can I do? I use bMaximizeWindow=0 and bBorderless=1, bFull Screen=1 at the Res 1280x720. I have tried his Reses and it makes everything WAY too big

This will run fallout 4 in fullscreen:

Change the prefs.ini file in your documents/users/mygames/fallout4 and in your steamapps/common/fallout4 to the following,

bMaximizeWindow=1
bBorderless=1
bFull Screen=0
iSize H=1080
iSize W=1920

If you dont want 1920/1080 resolution replace with your own.

I was able to run Fallout 4 perfectly in full screen with this fix.
Hope it helps!"

I must be misunderstanding your thread somehow.

If the Res. you want is 1280x720 then just set your iSize H=720 and iSize W=1280.

If you have them at that and the the Res. is too large to fit the screen, then set the Res. higher.

And, my bFull Screen is set to 1. Try that too.

I've done all of that. It's so strange, no matter what I do it's either like 1 size too large or completely distorded or focused on the top right corner and its gigantic. I don't know what the hell F4SE did to my Res for FO4 but I have not been able to fix it yet, this is now day 2 of trying to fix it....

Its not F4SE.

Its your .ini edits.

Revert the changes or just delete the ini, it will be automatically recreated at default settings.

Also, check what resolution is set in windows screen properties or whatever.

If it would be F4SE's fault, others would have the same issue.

F4SE is the one and only thing I did directly before it happened, so I deduced that as the cause. So what ini do I change/delete please? I can't find any .ini's where are they please, what do I get rid of?

F4SE is tested by too many people every day to screw up anything on its own.

Search engine is your friend.

Fallout4prefs.ini and fallout4.ini, rename them to anything. Should work.

OK I'll try that. I deleted them as you said and my system told me to reinstall FO4. I'll dig em up outta Recycling and rename them. Hope this works...

Just rename and try to run the game. If steam whines something is wrong, just verify files.

It didn't work, still zoomed in too far, no change. Changing Resolution does nothing. Is there a Zoom function?

I'm just about at my wit's end on this. 2 days of trying to fix it and nothing. It happened as a result of downloading F4SE or it just happened to randomly change itself by itself at the same time of downloading as a rediculous coincidence. If nothing else can fix this I'll just redownload F4SE, Holo time, Mod config, and Hud whatever.

I have the same problem, did you find a solution?
if I open only the game the resolution is perfect, but if I try to open the F4SE it has a very bad resolution

Open fallout launcher via steam. Select your preferred graphic preset (ultra/high/medium/low). Just this, no tinkering with specific options. Close the launcher.
Start the launcher again, start the game and you will see if the preset is actually in use.
Close the game, run your mod launcher, start f4se and the game. See if the preset you selected in launcher is used.

Your next action is determined by what happens. Let me know how it went.

The solution I found was:
  • Open your windows display settings and set your Scale to 100%
  • Open the Fallout4Prefs.ini file (you can search your game folder for it)
  • Change your iSize H= and iSize W= to your monitor/screens resolution
  • Launch the game in borderless mode and enjoy
