Best mod to make the game harder ?
I really like this game but I can't finish a play through since it always get's too easy to the point I feel like I have godmode on, even If I avoid all armor and play mostly for fun. I don't want to do what many suggest and avoid all perks because that would just defeat the point of the game.

Just wondering if there is any good mods people are using to make the game harder and more fun :)

You can do that without modding.
Ditch your best stuff and don't use any skills related to your level of expertise.

I'm already refusing to use many perks, power armor or any armor at all.

But I don't see this as a fix. It also just takes away fun from the game since it means looting/exploring and leveling up is pointless.

Im just getting back into modding this so i have no opinions yet but i will be looking for this sort of stuff in the next few days.

I recall enjoying Gas masks of the commonweath for it's metro style gas mask requirements.

endless warfare for crazy amounts of spawns (might not still work)

Arbritration - increases in AI difficulty, in combination with other mods this made my game INSANELY hard last time i was playing, getting headshot like mad and I had increased headshot dmg from some mod at the same time.

there's a lot of great stuff but i can't remember the names of most of it right now :)

Put this maximum settings, makes rad storms really dangerous and turns the Glowing Sea into a none stop mega battle.

Also pump spawn points and others like that raise number of enemies in a sim friendly way.

I use the More Enemies mod. It doesn't manually add any extra spawn points or anything like that -which could potentially break things or cause crashes. Instead - it just duplicates all the existing non-unique, generic enemies using multipliers. I like to use double most creatures, 6x most weapon carrying humanoids, and 8x as many ghouls. It can get extremely tough in some areas. I've had firefights with raiders and synths that sometimes take 15 minutes to complete.

You can fine tune how many enemies you want for each creature. So if you don't want Deathclaws multiplied - you don't have to. It also has scaling options so that the numbers increase as your levels increase and it has the ability to randomize the amount. It works really well for me.

I'm already refusing to use [...] power armor...
I've never used power armor in Fallout 4. Every time I get it from that one quest I just ditch the armor to Sanctuary and leave it there. It's great decoration though.

Me neither. Once you get ballistic weave perks to customize clothing you can stack lots of resistance.

- Better Locational Damage

- Endless Warfare still works. I prefer War of the Commonwealth but if you don't tweak the settings for your hardware it'll cause crashes. It's definitely worth testing out at least once but EW is better for the long run

- Then there are mods like Deadly Commonwealth, Raider Bosses, Raider Overhaul, Super Mutants Inherit the Earth, Super Mutant Redux, Synth Overhaul, Children of Atom Overhaul that make the factions stronger

- Deadlier Deathclaws, lowkey gamechanger especially with something like Endless Warfare

- For radiation there's PIRAD and it works with True Storms

- Bounties For You (bounty hunters hunt you down)

- No Place is Safe (literally)

- NPC Level Scaling allows enemies to level with you so you don't outlevel them

- Better Settlers has a Mortal Settlers option

there's more out there but those are my favorites. At the very least I'd recommend Better Locational Damage. Then if you use EW or WotC having a mod like Salvage Beacons will save you time from having to run back and forth.

*Clean Water - Tropical.esp -Trying this out
*CF_AtomicWarlord.esp -makes the followers tougher
*InstitutePowerArmor.esp -Institue guards in their own new kind of power armour
*PortableRecycler.esp -Absolutely must try sound effects and everything
*Hollywood Bullet Tracers.esp
*Hollywood Lasers.esp
*CROSS_Wasteland_Ronin.esp -Usable Samurai armour and makes ghouls tougher
*EFF.esp -multiple allies the way it was meant to be
*RealTroughs.esp -Brahmin deserve better than dirty bathtubs
*StrongerRaids.esp -settlement raids
*PumpeSpawnPoints.esp -be prepared to be surprised but in a sim friendly way
*MoreEnemies.esp -this and the one above result in great gameplay

*BogartNick - Gen 2.esp -just a good mod
*LR_APCTransport.esp -a sim fast travel is must have this is the best i found

Load accelerator is a must have and it works and is 10x faster.

This mod list never crashes. All high quality sim friendly none game ruining.

This mod list raises difficulty level but is balanced only by having multiple companions at least some in PA, making squad type gameplay a must.

A mod that adds the key words for no power armor damage and no ammo use to companions so they are like Danse and settlers is also must have for a proper PC version of Fallout 4 survival which i did myself in the CK as well as other similar mods.

Do you play on Survival? Cause Survival makes everything harder, well at least for the first 20-30 levels or so.

I play on very hard since the survival mechanics just seem to make it more annoying than actually being harder. I was going to get a mod to take that away but I read that survival and very hard have the same enemy difficulty and damage, and also on survival you get an adrenaline perk so you deal more damage too and that seems to go against the point of choosing a harder difficulty.

WH-Mk.22 Heavy machine gun REDUX https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/21516
Put this gun in there. It's useless to you, it's heavy and you won't kill anyone with it, but in the hands of sumermutants and in the combination of these modes, when supermutants 5 and 3 have this weapon, try to survive. Do you want a challenge? Every oven can let it go. He plays the game from the beginning every time he kills you. You still like to run for power armor.

Survival mode is interesting because it introduces some changes that force you break out of god-mode strategies. It's pretty different than the lower difficulties.
