Reaching out to people who know about game audio editing/modding
Wondering if someone can help put into perspective what would go into making a particular mod? Inspired by Half Life: Google Translate edition, id like to attempt the same idea, but with the thousands of audio files in Fallout 4. If implementing the audio in replace of the games audio is way messy, would it be possible to run multiple live translator apps/software to accomplish the same results? Playing with the idea (struggling to find answers on the interwebs) & trying to weigh the outcome with what is involved, many thanks for your time.

This would actually be fairly simple to do, though pretty tedious. All voice lines are stored in "Fallout4 - Voices.bsa" which you can extract with Bethesda Archive Extractor (on NexusMods). You get a bunch of folders with .fuz files, which you can convert to .wav with something like Yakitori Audio Converter ( https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/9322/? ). Then you'd feed them into the translator or whatever you plan to do, and convert them back into .fuz files and place them in the appropriate folders. No need to put them back into the archive (though you can put them into a new .bsa, which you'd then enable by creating a blank .esp file with the same name) because the game will prioritize loose files over a .bsa.

No problem! If you have any questions, let me know and I'll see what I can do.
