New to PC. Fallout 4 mods stoped working when i moved them to external hard drive. Please Help.
I just got my PC a little while ago and fallout 4 was the first game i got and loaded. At first it was loaded to my C drive and I was able to load mods using Nesus Mod Manger with out much problem. I just took a little getting used to. I started running out of room on my C drive so I uninstalled the game and deleted the mods i had. Then reinstalled the game to an external drive. I loaded up some mods but they didn't work this time. The only one that did work was "Secret Basement Stash". Others like "Caliente's Beautiful Bodies Enhancer -CBBE-" or "looksmenue" won't show up in game.

I do have Fallout 4 Script Extender installed, I used the interstellar on the page. The mods are listed as active in both mods section of NMM and plugin section. I also checked and Looksmenue is listed in the data folder for my Fallout 4 game but only listed as having one 1kb of data which im guessing is wrong. I also tried the enabling mods processing but that didn't work either.

I new to this and don't know much about this type of stuff so any help or idea would be greatly appreciated

You're going to have an Extremely tough time running Fallout 4 from an external drive!

Make sure you have both the game and NMM on the same drive.

Make sure you add the correct 3 lines to your Fallout4Custom.ini required for nexus mods to work.

I strongly suggest you put the game back on your C: drive.

The three lines in Fallout4Custom.ini are right. Though i noticed on my computer it doesn't say .ini I don't know if that matter or not. Also I got there by going to my documents on my c drive so i don't know if that needs to be on the same drive as my game or not.

Both the game and NMM are on the same drive.

If possible i like to keep my C: drive for only my OS since its a small solid state. I do have another internal hard drive if that would work better then trying to run it off of an external. My external is my largest drive so I'm trying to use that for most things.

The NMM virtual install directory must be on the same drive letter as Fallout 4 because windows will not do symbolic links across drive letters

I'm not sure what the virtual install directory for NMM is but when I go to NMM then settings then Fallout 4 it says that my fallout 4 directory, where i store the install info, and where the mods are stored are all on the E: drive. Is virtual install directory something different?
