OOOO! I liked Willow and she Loves me. I will definitely take a look at the Heather Casdin mod.
If you really want to try and uninstall it, use the console-command for a sunny vanilla weather (without fog or many clouds, those could be modified), then go into an interior-cell, where weather isn't active (coc to Vault 111 for example), save the game and disable (untick the .esp file) the mod afterwards. Now load the save without the .esp, save again, now remove anything remaining of the mod like textures etc, then restart the game again, load the newest save without the .esp and go outside and see if it still crashes. If it does, you don't want to uninstall this mod on this character ever again.
So in some cases, just wait, or alt tab in and out of the game, it may unstick itself after a few minutes. I have a large number of mods installed (Fallout Appearance package), which may be the reason for the long crash-like pause.
I've had exactly this same bug, freeze on a dark grey screen where the cutscene is supposed to start - I've tried everything, change resolution, disable mods, console commands but nothing worked... until I found the simplest of all solutions... Once the screen darkens and the load screen shows... keep pressing 'T' like a madman (this is the 'skip' custcene button).. the cutscene will skip and the game continues... Hallelujah !
I love you. Elegant and effective. Thank you so much.
Im just a new fallout 4 player, but i was so heartbroken when i finally decided to finish the minutemen storyline, my game crashed right at this spot over and over.
The same thing happened with BoS because it lead to the same point, ofc i couldn't know this until i had already started the whole game again and go to that point with BoS..
I thought perhaps it was because i didnt have all the DLC but it continued to crash at that exact moment.
I don't use or even know how to use mods with fo4 so that certainly wasnt the issue.
All i can say is i was really upset i couldnt continue after this quest or that i would be forced to never finish the game due to it.
Thank you so much BeAvatar your spam T suggestion worked.
Oh my god, this worked! Thank you so much! I was at my wits end! I looked everywhere for a fix and this one comment was my salvation.
