Everything on Bethesda.net is also on Nexus, and much more. Beth.net as a manager is very primitive.

But if you are just test driving the idea of mods you could start by using Beth.net

So would you say using the ingame mod workshop is fine as opposed to nexus?

I would just use the ingame mod workshop if you are just trying out modding, get use to mods, then when you feel good about it go on YouTube and learn how to REALLY mod and manage your load order better. Might I suggest Gopher's tutorial on how to mod Fallout 4.

Ive been modding and watching gopher since the early days of FO3, its just that im a lazy ♥♥♥♥♥ and when i mod with nexus, i tend to spent 2-3 days on getting the mods and getting everything to work, so i was wondering if by now the ingame workshop is an acceptable alternative.

Nexus mods. Why use two?

Nexus mods are the best + Vortex for mod manager

I hated Vortex at first but once I got used to it I found it was better than NMM. Loot is built in to Vortex so don't have to worry about that and the plug-ins page for Vortex is more user friendly.

I haven't used it for skyrim yet just fallout 4 but I expect it to be just as easy.

the only problem I had with Vortex was the bodyslide mod, be sure to choose the one in the actual game directory and not the one in the vortex mods folder

other then that its a great manager it works for everything else I installed on it so far

I actually have mods from both camps (Nexus and Bethesda .Net mods) installed on my vortex mod manager . The nexus have both the mods and plug-ins in , with Bethesda .net mods only the plug-ins are installed . there is mod folder found at ''My Games / Fallout 4 '' which has your mods
from both camps . I have well over 2 hundred mods installed

I also suggest using Mod Organizer 2[www.nexusmods.com] instead of other mod managers. It's by far the most advanced yet simple and clean looking. Nexus Mod Manager looks clean but it's too simple. Vortext is modern but looks like a mess and is hard to get used to honestly. The UI is terrible and isn't user-friendly. MO2 has the best of both worlds.

Vortex is pretty good once you get the hang of it. It did take me a while to figure it out, but I'd been away from modding for a couple years.

Listen mod properly and do it manually. Really.

Nexusmods is best and the biggest reason is that its easier to find mods there when there is 30,000+ of them. Start by looking under catagories at the top of the page.

Modding is great but alot can go wrong to and have to do it manually to even be able to do it at all basically.

Its even easier to do it manually.

I am convinced mod managers are to turn off customers to modding.

I know I'm one year later in the post but, every time I use Nexus mods it will soon or later mess with the game, crash, workshop menu, compagnon bugs, I just uninstall the game delete all mods and I notice that Fallout 4 Is Getting a Free Next-Gen Update in 2023, I'm tired with mods that conflict with each other, is there a way to mod without conflict?
