This thing is a monster, im havin a blast with it. After my initial fail of killing myself with it by accident on survival, i have modded(in game weapon mod) it to no longer make an aoe but instead arc to enemies, however i have a few questions about it.

1.Can the arc hit neutrals or allies? For instance if i fire it at a raider can it arc off and hit my BOS friends im trying to assist.
2. Is there any downside to using it? For a single ammo im doing 120 dmg, vs my modded laser rifle only doing 40 dmg per shot. It has no reload time and it can fire semi-auto just like the laser rifle.
3. If i give it to a companion can it arc off the enemy and insta kill me?

it's a close range killer (for sniper purpose) at range you will miss more than you would with ballistic
it can arc, but things need to be real close, and the chance is not good, so not much to worry about there
the ammo is hard and expensive to come by in a non-modded situation
