I cannot uninstall this game
I'm trying to uninstall and reninstall fallout 4 to clear mods, but for some reason I have no access to my own Data folder and so steam can't even work with it. I've looked up guides for giving myself permision, and I can't find anything that works.

If you need more details on the error, when I click my data folder, it says that I don't have permission and that access is denied, and when I try to delete it it says "You need permission to perform this action.

I nned help badly here becuase my game won't work, and I'm trying to wipe it back to vanilla. I nned help

Take ownership of the folder, sometimes system takes priority and won't let you do anything to it.

^ That's for Windows 10

Right click on the game in your library, click properties, local files and uninstall game.

It won't get rid of your mods that way, just saying.

Yeah.

OP, uninstall all your mods, then the game. Next go to the game folder located in C:/Program Files[x86]/Steam/steamapps/common/Fallout 4. Delete anything remaining in the game folder. Now go to Documents/My Games/ Fallout 4 and delete the Fallout4.ini and the Fallout4Prefs.ini.

Reinstall the game and you will be back to vanilla.
