The one that deals 15pts explosive Damage per bullet.

Nah, Wounding all the way. Every hit does 25 unresistable damage with a small delay until it takes effect.

Wounding is very convenient (for avoiding friendly fire), but its damage doesn't hit an area and isn't increased by Demolition Expert, unlike the Explosive prefix.

If you want to lay waste to an area and don't care what you hit, it's Explosive all the way.

I'm still using righteous authority on my non survival character but I would drop it in a heartbeat for that shotgun. I mean literally drop not vendor store or put on display. On survival I finally defeated Swan and got the Furious Fist and have it to Cait along with the Green loincloth costume. Totally unrelated I know but took a lot of planning to get it on survival lol.

Don't get me wrong, it's not a bad weapon. Well, at least the explosive variant is not.

I also find it amusing that you can actually make more ammo than you use with the flechette mod, a bit like how you can duplicate your ammo with a two-shot bowling ball launcher.

Get a few mods and just make one.

I have never in 3400 hours found the Explosive Combat Shotgun. I did however just find an explosive gauss rifle!

Explosive Combat Rifle is good too, also if you have the explosive perk maxed out its 30 points explosive damage instead of 15
I got myself a double barrel explosive shotgun. Pretty OP, considering the reload animation and rate of fire.

The only downside is that it usually sends corpses flying too far away, plus it messes up with non-static parts of the map, making it difficult for you to loot crap after a battle.

You lucky guys. So far my "best" Legendary Weapon is the sword that makes +50% damage against Super Mutants.

I carry it proudly! (And slay radroaches with it...)

Exploding pistol, shotgun or submachine gun sounds nice.
just get spray and pray

I highly recommend the Kiloton Radium Rifle. It's basically just a much improved version of the Spray and Pray.

I've read in the wiki that energy weapons with modifiers such as Explosive or Incendiary tend to shoot projectiles as if they were converted to ballistic weapons, is that true?
