Can't do anything after trying to change name

Just like in the Title. Can't move, can't open Pip Boy, can't even exit the game normally. I tried to change it with the console command showspecialmenu.

Well then tell me how to use it correctly.

Don't use the console to change character appearance or name,it tends to ♥♥♥♥ up the game,and has done so since fallout 3

Figured I would resurrect this thread and give an answer for the next person who Google brings here:

With the Unofficial Fallout4 Patch installed, renaming your character with the SpecialMenu may not work. If you are dead-set on changing your name with the ShowSpecialMenu command, then you will need to disable the UFO4P, use the ShowSpecialMenu to change your name, save, quit, then reinstall the UFO4P.

Some folks might lose their mind at the mere suggestion of removing and reinstalling such a mod, but I'm just sharing what I have found to work in this instance. Good luck.

Necroing this but you don't have to disable Unofficial Fallout 4 Patch to change your name.

You just change your name in "showspecialmenu" in console. After this the game gets stuck but you can save the game if you alt-tab out and force Pause menu to appear. After saving the game you have to restart the game though and load your new save after the name change. You should get your movement etc. back and be able to play normally.
