Just that "i'll join" verbal agreement doesn't get you stuck with anyone.
You get to keep playing after you finish the main story, Each faction has a special perk that they offer once you've gained their trust, but depending on the route you take towards the end, that perk won't be avaliable anymore.
The Minutemen are the forth, But they take a different route than the other factions, I can't say much more without spoiling the ending for you.
