Misc Quest Bug
I have the quest still where I need to claim 8 outposts to gain access to the loot chest for the DLC. Problem is doing so will require me to take pretty much all the other settler locations which I don't want to do. In fact, I don't even want to finish that quest - I want to get rid of it. I've been trying to find the ID to this quest online to no avail.

Through the console command I found the quest ID was DLC04ShankMiscObjective, so I typed in CompleteQuest DLC04ShankMiscObjective but nothing happened. It didn't complete.

Is there anything I can do? I don't want it sitting around in my quest log for eternity, and I don't want to take the other settlements for the raiders. I just wanted to do the minimum of 3 in the commonwealth.

I've already completed that whole questline.

Will that solve the problem?

Yes, talk with the doctor on the market or with Preston, he will give you a quest called open Season

mackenzie just asks if I want to be healed in any way, doesn't tell me about the open season quest.

Hunh. I may have just brushed her off. I didn't realize that was a quest. Darn.

Can I still get it by just murdering Porter?

Yeah, that makes sense. Its odd, I was let through this entire questline feeling like I had no other choice. Ugh. I really don't like this DLC.

On another note, I just killed one of the gang leaders, and that started the questline Open Season. At least I still got my perks, for finishing the questline.

Good luck killing ALL other Raiders

From a roleplay standpoint:

I played along, taking out 3 raider gangs all at once is too much. I figured at one point they'd betray each other for something petty, because they're raiders, and when that happened, I was able to wipe out one raider gang that way, so I only had 2 to deal with.

I was careful not to kill any of the settlers that I drove off, because I never wanted to be one of them (I actually didn't. I persuaded them all nicely). Afterward, when they trusted me, I went up and killed the leader of one of the remaining gangs, sent them into disarray, and got rid of all them.

After that I only had one group left. Killed them too, and freed Nuka World.

At least that's what I'll go with. It worked though, got rid of the quest I wanted, too. Now all that's left is to hope Preston is willing to talk to me. XD

You should use the Mod Nuka Mercs, and choose the Minutemen Option, then Nuka Town USA is guarded by Minutemen

Just don't worry about it.

You're not penalized for not doing things. Its just an entry on a list. Ignore it.
There's a mod to skip the home sweet home quests, on nexus. Just google it. This way if you don't want to raid your settlements you can skip that if it doesn't suit you.
