They're random and how often they show up is level dependent. The higher your level the more often they'll spawn.
What are you calling guys like Swan, Clint, Baker, Tessa, Jared, and Red Tourette?
Are these not unique bosses that do not respawn after being killed when the cell refreshes?
Practically every location has a named boss that is unique.
They're named. They're not unique.
Why are they not unique? You only get to kill them once. What does an NPC need to be for you to label them unique?
Be in New Vegas and have their size increased by 50%.
LOL, am I missing something here? These npcs are unique because you only get to kill them once. They are bosses because they are tougher than their base npc and they are named.
Why doesn't that satisfy the OPs requirement?
In fo4 their mostly just named for mini-quest reasons, or theirs some in-game backstory to them.
While on the topic of named enemies, I dont think any unique enemy in NV caught me by suprise more than that deathclaw you encounter in the cave on lonesome road. I forget his name but he's the second strongest deathclaw in the game and he's was just so damn fast.
I would never surrender to a raider named Wesley. . .
