Looksmenu

................just to name a few
Looksmenu is coming out with some very innovative features such as in-game bodyslide, randomly generated NPC bodies, and overlays, none of which would be possible without F4SE. It all depends on your game style but you might want to take a peek anyway.
Yes some heavily modded can have some amazing NPC screen shots. I used a few of those for the picture replacers actually.
What is F4SE?
Ive seen it mentioned in some of the mod descriptions but dont know what it is
F4SE = Fallout 4 Script Extender
F4SE was just updated to version 0.4.1. Recent updates have been quite rapid. It actually now has Papyrus functions, allowing mod authors to create more advance mods for Fallout 4.
It is not yet the F4SE that rip gates wide open, but those gates are no longer locked and you can squeeze through the holes.
At this point F4SE usability is still limited to certain mods. Mod authors, testers, forum regulars and people working with morphs are eagerly poking around it though. Development took big leaps over the spring. Hopefully we will see more soon.
In general I tend to say "If you plan on having lots of fairly complex mods, then yes."
The Script Extenders usually were essential for mods like Skyrim's SkyUI, New Vegas' Project Nevada, and every mod that had advanced scripting that was simply not part of the base games.
In general the SE's also made the bethesda-games a bit more stable. Most players complaining either used early and understandably buggier versions of the SE's, or they just screwed up their mod-builds and blamed the SE. And this is something many people did.
Consensus among players that use mods and have some understanding of modding is 'Yes to SE'.
So as redeyedraven is saying, that's definitely a big YES to F4SE.
If you load any mods with it, then achievements will be disabled.
But you can avoid that.
