Bethesda really don't like Alt-Tabbing, do they?
Now, I may not be the most qualified for saying this (As I've only played Skyrim and Fallout 4 [Unless you Count DOOM as a bethesda game]), But in my experience, Bethesda games tend to really screw up when you try to tab out of the game.

Anyone else bummed about this? I tend to Alt-Tab a lot while playing games, and having to restart the game because I can suddenly see my mouse cursor all the time or the game decides to zoom way to far in whenever I tab back gets really annoying really fast.

Really? I've had loads, ranging from mild annoyances to game crashes to even COMPUTER CRASHES at times. I doubt it's my PC since it Can Tab out of most games just fine...

Borderless Windowed Mode.
It's the perfect option if you tab out a lot, like I do.

I have a problem with the mouse cursor popping up in game sometimes when alt-tabbing. But that's about it.

I can avoid it in this game by pausing it first, but that's about all I can do about it.

Same here with Skyrim.
On Fallout 4 my game simply screws up big time.

alt tabbing gives my computer a seizure and it drives me insane
avoid borderless windows if you have ENB though.

I don't play in windowed, I alt tab all the time, and I have no issue. In fact I find that fallout is unusually fast at alt tabbing from fullscreen mode.

Rarely (like 1 in 50) I get a glitch where suddenly the game thinks I'm using a different screen resolution, however alt tabbing again always fixes it.

Fallout 3 and Oldrim is notorious for these issues.

Shift-tab first to the Steam overlay.

Seems to be okay with FO4 but FO3 and FONV used to hang up after alt-tabbing from them. Don't have any experience with TES games.

Hit the escape key first. Then hit alt tab. I have actually quit STEAM, usually to look something up if I'm having a "discussion", then logged back into STEAM, and there was my game waiting patiently paused.
