Should i join the rail road?
Played the game twice, both as BOS and Institue. Is the rail road worth joining in a third playthrough, they come of as kindof lame to me but if one of you thought they had a good story line or good gear i wouldnt mind giving it a try.

In my opinion, the Railroad is terrible as they only care about saving synths. The BOS is a bit racist but in my opinion the best (equipment, spawns in the commonwealth and quests), the Institute that is basically ♥♥♥♥ with people on the surface and the Minutemen that is all about settlements that need your help and thinks marked on your map... Join the BOS dude... Lol

Join them, get the benefits and then turn on them if you chose. Nothing to keep you from being a proud member of all four factions. For a while.

Yes for sure you can still join the other factions and it doesnt hurt anything at all.

Their gear is focused moreso around stealth users. Deliverer, better Stealth Boys, and Ballistic Weave for underarmors, accessories, and outfits.

Their storyline is meh, at least far as I've played. Depends I guess on where your personal philosophies about Synths lie.
They're modeled after the Underground Railroad that historically smuggled enslaved African Americans and helped them escape to freedom.
They are a rag-tag kind of group with less tangible resources or might than the Brotherhood or Institute. Very guerilla. Majority of their quests before choosing sides have to do with discovering the fates of compromised safe houses. They're also very "spy games", if you get my meaning-code phrases, dead drops, markers, stuff like that.

Their faction companion, Deacon, is actually a pretty cool and interesting character and gives the best companion perk for a stealth user, imo. The rest of the npcs are kind of hit or miss. Desdamona is alright. Glory seems kind of interesting. Some of the interactions with Tinker Tom are pretty funny. Carrington is a ♥♥♥♥. Their HQ is probably the least interesting.

If you haven't done their questline, but have already done BoS and Institute, I see no reason not to try it, unless you are opposed to experiencing new things or have no interest in being an "achiev ♥♥♥♥♥". You can always do the Minutemen instead, too. I'd consider them and the RR to probably be the two lesser morally grey factions of the four main ones in the game.

They are lame; incredibly so. The BOS ending is really the only one that should have been released.

It's the only one that's fleshed out.

Railroad, BOS or Institute you will be happy for chosing them. Minutemen are a chore/curse that will melt your ears.

You are the perfect kind of genius. If you're doing an evil playthrough just get the benefits they give then kill them all. It's win-win. Just mess with the Railroad to get a few early goodies then ditch them for a better faction.
