Xbox One Controller not working

I have been using a controller with this game for almost a year on PC. Never have I had issues with using a controller. The light on the controller is on and all drivers are up to date. Mouse and keyboard do not work when the USB adapter and controller are turned on.

You can always see if steam detects your controller.

Just go to the top of steam and click help button > system information and look and see if it's listed.

And you also need windows 10 ( although I found a way to get it to work in 8.1)

It also happened on all my other steam games basically. I figured out what the issue was! I did not realize it, but having Steam Big Picture running with the Xbox one controller support ticked is what was causing the problem. I unchecked everything in Steam Big Picture and I got my controller support back fully on every game.

This was very helpful, i had this problem. I figured out that when i opened steam in big picture mode since the steam app was using the controller it wasnt allowing the game to use it cuzz it was already in use by steam.
