Controller not working have it enable in prefs.....

After i modded my fallout 4 doesnt seem to want to work with a controller only a keyboard and mouse and its annoying me cause i do like to lay back and play with a controller at times so WTF is happening to i can fix it.

Are you using steam big picture? I use a ps4 controller but its still the same. I dont know if you need to use bluetooth with a steam or xbox controller aswell.

Its bluetooth but i keep it plugged in and no i wasnt using big picture mode i hate using it cause i like having my desktop useable.

bluetooth receiver sometime messed up controller, steam was able to pick up my ps4 controller just fine using usb cable, after pairing with bluetooth it stops detecting my controller even with usb so i have to resort on ds4windows

You might try placing its receiver in a different usb port sometimes nearby interference (such as being to close to some graphics cards) can disrupt the connection.
