yea yea hey you are terrible man! :-) INSTEAD I want ALL the other guns removed, or at least made extremely rare, 3 .50s, 3 plasmas, 10 non-BoS energy weapons, etc. Role-playing the wasteland of the FO4 universe? All military-grade weaponry would already be gone, hoarded by heavily defended militias (think Riley's Rangers or Talon Company, only much more lethal) DIY pipe weaponry is all we have, I wish we had ammo mods like F:NV because again, all brass would have been reloaded dozens of times and we should have weapon-destroying explosions cook-offs, jams, duds, etc.

There are mods to do what I want, but to do what you want? HA!

No, well yea those exist too. Damn. But I'm not helping you by linking them!

What? Once you customize one into an SMG or Carbine with all of the slick parts the pipe gun is one of my favorites.

It's their aesthetic that I hate; the rough, unpainted wood just looks unbelievably crummy in a bad way. It's so bad that even the Creation Club paintjobs won't touch it.
honestly... pipe rifles are quite good, and i like the visuals since its very put together/post war. although if you did want to remove them im sure their is a mod that does so

The metal parts are good; they look makeshift, but functional.

It's just the wood that goes too far and looks like someone deliberately trying to seem trashy.

EDIT: Funnily enough, what I've seen of 76's take on pipe guns seems to tie it together much better just with a colour/texture change that makes the metal look more recently-worked and the wood more weathered.

They're homemade. From table legs, fallen trees, whatever they could get their hands on. They're supposed to look like crap because they were made out of whatever they could find.
They're not gunsmiths or artisans, the crappy handles are functional. Now yeah, they could've taken a few minutes to dress them up, like was done when guns were first introduced to the West, with carved handles (or at least comfortable), but maybe the reason is because they died before they could finish it? I mean, the place is rough.

However, I do agree they're hideous, and really hate getting them as loot above Level 30, but then, more people have pipe pistols than any other gun, because they're easy to make.

Try and farm a pipe rifle form a legendary enemy with the 'deals so and so % explosive damage' bonus. Once you get it, go to your workbench and put all the best mods on it along with a fully auto receiver. Max out your explosive damage perk and this gun will be a fantastic end game weapon. Im currently level 52 on very hard difficulty and i manage to take down a Mirelurk Queen with just under a single clip (around 45 rounds).

P.S; Pipe weapon rounds are the most common. I currently have over 4k rounds lol (this is also due to the fact that i have thee 'find more ammo in containers' perk rank 2

the explosive perk is a flat 15 points of damage not % based. you can upgrade this with the demolition perk to be 30 points of explosive damage and im not entirely positive i think the explosive effect also gets boosted by the correct weapon perk making it do 45 damage. this is why the explosive gatling gun is hilariously broken being able to kill absolutely anything in seconds.
