"Req: Rank 1 Gun Nut" - but i have it
For instance, "Long light barrel" for the 10mm pistol, shows a panel to the right telling me "Req: Rank 1 Gun Nut" and theres a a small closed padlock icon in the top right. (And yes i have all the materials needed for the mod)

I have 10 intel and am level 4. According to the Perks chart i have the perk, i think. The perks come into effect as soon as you meet the requirements right? Nothing ive found online says "put a point into <insert perk name here>" or that you have to spend points for perks.... but you know.... this wouldnt be the first time ive worked the answer out myself when trying to precisely formulate the question here. Despite, as is the case today, having spent a couple of hours trying to work it out already. Ive searched this forum and ive searched general search engines, and ive checked several wikis. Now i'm pretty sure i have answered my own question but i'm gonna leave this right here (despite opening myself up for ridicule) because some kind soul might confirm this for me and also someone else who's just bought the game might make the same mistake and find this helpful.
