The fight isn't endless--it just seems that way. There are a huge number of robots that must be destroyed, and you will need that jet. If you give the attacking assaultrons a few seconds they will fry you right through your armor. I recommend a high rate of fire, high damage rifle. I used an 80 shot assault rifle--and about 1,000 rounds of ammo. Here I'm not kidding.
This is meant to be an ultra hard fight, and I would not be going in at less than level 30--unless you're playing low or normal level. It can be won even on survival level, but it will push you to the limit. The factory voice will give you a heads up when resources for the Mechanist begin to run out, but it takes a DAMN long time to get through that count down. Meanwhile don't waste your life trying to keep your robot alive. Once it's got you to the last room, it's done its job, and is dispensible. The Mechanist is so hard to beat I don't think I've EVER shown mercy on her.
I usually skip that fight the last couple thousand hours I've been playing. Too much of a chore. I just keep slaughtering Rust Devils till game's end.
The Mechanist is a woman?
Wow.....
high fire rate weapon is really needed + lot of ammo,
i am using OG and it doing pretty good, i'm not sure but robot seems have high resistant against laser weapon, so i always use ballistic damage on them
my tips :
- plant them mines(not nuke one) on place where they show up from underground and some on the stairs it could damage their leg or just reduce some health of them
- reload your gun in cover/each wave finished, you dont want to face a wave with half empty mag
Healing is the operative word here. I just traded some old guns I never use, some Institute Rifles/Pistols, and the rest of my bottle caps for 16 StimPaks.
Now, I've gone back in wearing the same power armour (Completely covered!) with the Tesla Gun (With about Fifty Shots) and Grognaks Axe. I also have the Silver Machine gun that belongs to the Shroud.
Wish me luck.
OH, I also got some Buffout.
