Change Gender?

Hello guys, I've been playing this game a lot lately and I regretted I chose Nora instead of Nate. (or if that confuses you, I chose the wife instead of the husband)

So, is there a mod to alter the gender without any trouble? I read some articles about changing gender with console command that will break the game, like Codsworth will always call you Mum, even you changed the gender. (or it's that true?) I dont want to restart the game either.. I'm in the middle of the game.

You're better off starting a new game, too many changes and things that can possibly break game if you switch gender mid-game

yes it will probably make problems in the game.

i would say to give it a try, but be sure you can go back to the save game just before you made the change.
but a warning: it may turn out that the really big problems may not show till long after you make the change.
so that would mean that you can change, notice a few minor problems and keep playing and eventually the problems will get big, but you will now have a lot of time spent after the change.

i agree with the earlier advice to just restart the game.

Oh yeah, I tried it and it really messed up with my game. Lol

I went to the vault when Nora and Nate were cyro-frozen and there were double Nate. That was really weird.

Good thing I had a male protagonist save years back, it started at Diamond City. Saved me all the trouble.

You're going to run into a lot of trouble, even though the console command "sexchange" (?) can change you into the default Nate/Nora instantly.

There is no way to do this mid game the gender checks the base actor form when choosing dialogue there is actually two forms for the player so even if you run the console command to change gender it will still use the voice from the form selected at start and check that form for selecting the gender pronouns the other npcs use when talking to the player. Having never tried this command on the player I can not speak as to how else it will effect the game play.

I'm shocked the doctor who does facial reconstruction surgery in Diamon City isn't a sex change surgeon. Maybe some genius can come up with a mod for that. (As long as you get to the doctor before he gets on the radar for muder).

Go in for a sex change and end up looking like one of the gorillas from the institute.

No surgery can change Chromosomes m8. Though I fully support RP'ing as a Trap.


If there is a sex change option, if you're in Survival mode, a Dilation meter is mandatory, if you go too long without Dilating, your neovagina closes up and causes toxic shock syndrom from the putrid hairball buildup.

I completely agree. Can't change the chromosomes. But there's hormone therapy (just for appearances sake).

I just thought of another option to do a gender change and that would require a mod to get it to work.

"Mind Wipe" sound familiar?
Or what we did for Curie ... transfered her total essense into a synth body.
Except in this case, it could theoretically allow you to change your gender.

Not a whole lot of point in going into details of gener identity change.
You should ask for input from any gamer gal who is a mother in RL.

There is significant, intrinsic and biological differences between male and female that goes way deeper than appearances.

I've had to start new games due to things I REALLY wanted to be different - and in the end I enjoyed it a lot more - I even was able to exercise a lot of the things I learned playing previously. It's not that bad if you start over, really, you will enjoy yourself a lot more. GL
