sunglasses and perception headwear for followers?
I think with Amazing Followers tweaks I can get the stats on any npc. Didn't realize they all had their own stats, thought they were all generic.

Now that I know, is it worthwhile to do things to increase their stats through clothing? Don't think combat is that difficult to need this level of optimization, even on survival but how do you feel about this? I play survival so that all the subtle stat differences are more significant, but would it be worthwhile to manage followers or settlers to this degree?

Road goggles and bandanas to make my warriors look fearless.

Yes, it does (checked with console). str == carryweight, end == HP, int/cha/luck obviously useless, Not sure about per and agi, but I doubt that they have any effect

Well, I thought with a slightly elevated perception they would have small increases to shooting accuracy. Just not sure if anybody is bothering to optmize npcs with it.

I suppose this isn't something I bothered with until I played fallout shelter, lots of optimizing in that game.

You're probably going to want to research if companions even benefit from certain stats. Now you might be looking at some wiki site or using console commands and seeing that different companions have different SPECIAL stat allocations. I could see how that might lead some people to believe that maybe they benefit from special stats. But what is Danse going to do with a Charisma of 8 and Curie with a Charisma of 4?

There is a lot of stuff out there about how companions benefit from stats. I think one guy did a console command test on strength and endurance and they did see changes in hitpoints and carry weight. But I dont think they ever got around to testing the other special stats.

Maybe I should play around with legendaries. Suppose their carry weight goes up with strength. Suppose I'm more involved since I'm playing survival so I do want to optimize the npcs. Those subtle differences in stats might make a difference to the game.

Giving them legendaries for the effect buffs is what I do too. Since str and end have been tested and shown to have an effect on companions you can use gear with str and end. Wiki sites listing different perception, agility and luck values for different companions isnt enough to go on imo. You'd have to do your own testing or a bit more research to see how those stats affect your companions. Remember the tooltip for special stats is for your character not your companion.

Another thing you could try to do is to build a survival solo character with no companions or just dogmeat. Since the companions aren't all that great anyways and sometimes get in the way or alert the enemy to your location.
