X-01 Power Armor Best in-slot Mods?
As the title suggests! I need help deciding what is the best in slot mods for each piece of X-01 armor. I'm playing survival with no DLC and no mods. Any suggestions would help! And no, I don't wanna use the weave stuff that the Railroad gives me. Power armor is the only thing I wanna wear.

This is what I usually go with:

Helmet - VATS Matrix overlay

Torso - Core Assembly

Arms - Usually none, as I don't do much melee combat

Legs - Calibrated shocks

As you can see I use VATS frequently.

As to paint, I usually go with Hot Rod(agility+) or Military(strength+).

Helmet - Targetting HUD or VATS Matrix Overlay
Torso - Jetpack or Core Assembly
Arms - Anything works, since it only increases melee damage, and you need Blacksmith lv 1 to even access those mods
Legs - Calibrated Shocks. Once you get all Strong Back levels, change to the one that increases AP recovery.

I'd stack tanky stats/mods to it and more inventory space, save the chest for jetpack tho. Let's face it, a power armor you have to keep repairing every fight is not a power armor at all. Stack up tank mods to it. In my PA build that's what i did. Don't use VATs in a power armor playthrough, i hardly ever use it. Spec big guns and fortified, no one can take you down then. If you are going power armor build, AP is useless, don't even bother as most of your traits will depend on automatic and heavy guns/lasers. I am level 56 and have not used Vats in my single playthrough, it sucks especially with PA build. Only time AP and Vats is good if you are doing stealthy non-PA build.

As for paint, go for institute paint. IMO the best looking. And red flashlight visor.
