About Nuka World
I actually want to take over Nuka World and become their Overboss BUT at the same time I don't want to raid the commonwealth on their behalf. In other words, what happens in Nuka World, stays in Nuka World. Is it possible I can do this? I don't want their influence on the commonwelath because my goal is to use the Nuka World raiders as my tools/puppets. I am an institute director and I don't want them raiding the commonweatlh, it doesn't fall in line with my goals as I want peace in the commonwealth so that the institute can continue to operate there covertly. So yeah, can I take over Nuka World and just keep the raider gangs there? Allowing them into the commonwealth will just cause problems for the institute and for the minutemen and I don't want that. It will be troublesome. I decided that Nuka world would make the ideal long term allies of the institute, as I plan to use them as tools for our own gain because the minutemen can't be manipulated into being our puppets and frankly controlling the nuka world raiders is more fun than the minutemen.

You could just stop progressing their questline once you get to the part where they would invade the Commonwealth. The quest will just sit there waiting for you as long as you don't tell the relevant NPC that you want to go ahead with it.

im curious if the invasion is mandatory for the nuka world quest chain or can i just keep the raider gang in nuka world even after doing their story arc

They'll sit around and basically nothing more will happen until you either invade the Commonwealth or decide to fight the raiders.

You'll still be able to do radiant quests, but the main storyline won't progress and the park's power will remain off.

You can also go ahead with the invasion and mostly have the raiders take over empty locations, but the storyline requires you to force at least one group of settlers to supply the raiders (you can otherwise have the raider farm their own food).

Finishing the storyline while staying with the raiders requires that one supply settlement and a minimum of three raider outposts in the Commonwealth (though you can choose to take over the supply settlement as one of the outposts, forcing the settlers to abandon it).

yeah that's kinda a problem because that would mean i have to break relations with minutemen lol, my initial plan was to covertly take control of nuka world and keep the gang in nuka world but seems that's not possible.

You can do that. That is possible. When it says to go and talk to Shank, just do not do it. Or do talk to him and refuse his idea. Easy. Then you will be "finished" with the raider storyline. Leave everything as is.

The quest to take over settlements is the penultimate one. After that, there'll be one quest to turn the power on for the whole park, then it's over.
You don't need to become enemies with settlers. You can take over empty settlements, or settlements with wild creatures/other raiders. The only mandatory thing is to force/bribe another settlement into supplying your 3 settlements. And if you decide to murder the raiders afterwards, this "vassal" settlement will just become unaffiliated with you. Just do a quest for them to get them back.

If you're doing this, when Shank asks how you want to take the settlements over, choose "Take by force". That way he'll give you a list of every settlement in the commonwealth, even settlements with 0 settlers or hostile creatures. Don't choose "Talk to them", because that only works on settlements that are allied to you. And if you "persuade" them, all the settlers will leave.

There is a mod that let you skip the commonwealth raiding: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/18121 it let you skip it and then just go on with the next part.

"This perk is obtained if the Pack do not betray the Sole Survivor during the quest Power Play. "
"This perk is obtained if the Operators do not betray the Sole Survivor during the Power Play quest. "

If only one gang betrays me, I can get TWO perks? Because TWO gangs did not betray me?

But in all sources only ONE perk is mentioned.

Yes, one gang betrays you, and each of the other two gangs gives you a perk, so you get two perks in total.

If you're looking at the perk entries in the wiki, each entry only mentions its own perk. It doesn't mean you're not still getting another perk, since there will always be two gangs that don't betray you.

Thank you. Actually there are only 2 perks worth earning, so the situation is good. No need to sacrifice anything.
Melee perk is useless, too many enemies which have to be killed from far.

You can kind of RP it in the dialogue with the vassal interaction. I'd say give them empty settlements finish the storyline then kill them all. If you want.

I'm pretty sure last time I played though the Nuka World DLC I just had to speak to the NPC about raiding the commonwealth to get the power on. Then I went with the alternate ending.
