Suicider Mutant in Hospital Outside Malden

Remember to save before going into this stupid building. There's a suicide super mutant butthole just inside the door who comes running over as soon as you step inside. I was in full power armor on survival and it doesn't even help. Awful troll level design by the tools at Beth. And why are the insides of buildings harder to render than the outside world? Performance still sucks after all this time in most interiors.

You've got at least 10 seconds on entering to shoot the Nuke, more than enough time... After the first time.

Oh, man, you haven't been at Milton General Hospital yet, i think. Was kinda fun when when i thought i killed all suiciders there but then found out that there was one extra suicider spawned as a part of Super Mutant patrol random encounter and he came from behind...

Have you heard of this thing called "stealth"? Where you crouch, and with good skill points can be virtually unseen even to that guy?

I usually crouch to stealth *every time I enter any door*. There's no reason to worry then, you're starting out unseen.

Yeah for me early-game fat men are the worst.

Outpost Zimonja has a Raider in raider power armour with a fatman (this might be due to a mod because I have "improved raiders" or something like that, which increases the numbers and gear).

Also in Cambridge near the Corvega Factory, living up amongst some ghouls there's a powered up raider with a nuke. Yuck.

But when you're under level 20, armed with an improvised pipe pistol and a belligerent attitude, early game nuked-up raiders are the WORST. Super Mutant Suiciders don't hold a candle. Shoot them in the legs, head or the nuke itself and giggle.

Honestly though, I can't even remember what is vanilla and what's not, been playing heavily modded so long. I have a Super Mutant Redux (or something like that) mod that I think adds Nightkin (mutants using Stealthboy tech to sneak up and melee you), those ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ are the worst.

Take a snort of jet. Shoot his slow behind off as he crawls toward you. If you want to keep the nuke, just kill him. But if you want to see the fireworks shoot it in his arm.

Down south later on in the game there's this spot where I killed 4 super mutant suiciders in one small area. At one point I think two of the idiots ran into each other while chasing someone else. BOOM! Super mutants are a barrel of laughs.

I started encountering Suicidal children of atom. They'll be carrying the nuke like that too but they never blow up. Their called children of atom consigliers or something like that.

That raider allways has power armor and a Fatman, he also has a name if you check the corpse.

As for the OP's situation at the hospital, try sneaking before you enter and if you have a pistol or rifle you can get a good headshot with you should be able to slowly get into position to headshot the super mutant before it even notices your there.

You can also build up a Crit hit in VATS, and Use it on him as soon as you enter.

I already got blown up one time by the heay armor guy near Corvega with the fat man on the catwalk. I was trying to make Dogmeat come over and take cover because he ran to bite a goul in the middle of the street and we both got killed.

Well Im in power armor and I have a short barrel shotgun so its not much stealth going on right now.

That's good idea. I should get the chemist perk and stay sparked on chems.
