There are multiple GOTY awards from multiple different sources.
Fallout 4 won some as well as the Witcher 3.
Both games have a GOTY edition.

And no, bethesda didn't buy those awards.

who cares goty or what people just wanted a bundled version of a game which has all dlc, they can name it Definitive , Special , Goty edition i dont care as long as they put everything in 1 package

I bought GotY when it came out about 3 weeks ago. Paid full price 59$
Now it's on a 59% discount at 49$.

Game is definitely worth it if you like adventure games, but the discount manipulation is kind of disgusting. You have to read it as a ~18% discount.

If you prefer to wait for ~40% or more discount, it will get there eventually.

The deal is to just get more press. If you are going to compare Witcher 3 and Fallout 4, Witcher 3 hands down in terms of awards. However since Fallout 4 got 3 game of the year awards that will be enough for Bethesda to label itself a game of the year. But what does that mean? Nothing. There is no GOTY committee that have awards to games every year, it is just a haphazard thing that happens when a bunch of gaming journalists give around award for what they think is the best in their top 10 lists. If you get a GOTY award you can just make a complete edition and label it GOTY if you just got 1 such award. No one is going to go to the GOTY committee and complain about it anyway, so why not use it for marketing?

Wrong, Fallout 4 won the only GOTY award that matters, the DICE GOTY award given out by industry peers and is considered to be the most prestigious award that can be won.

NOBODY CARES WHAT GAME GETS GOTY, AND YOU DON'T CARE, GOTY MEANS NOTHING !

Goty is only has meaning and its called a game bundled with all expansions and dlc in 1 package.

not a single life form on planet earth cares which game is goty or not.
Goty its same crap as Definitive, Legendary, Special edition. Goty = BUNDLE PACK. not even skyrim or witcher are goty they just are for easy buy access to get all stuff in 1 go.
