Anyone Yet Found A Use For The Syringer Rifle
It seems like a neat concept. You make your own ammo for it. Seems like a winner.

But..... The ammo gobbles up resources needed elsewhere (oil for instance) or that's pretty scarce (nuka cola). And then the weapon's effects, most of them look like they'd just tick some bad guy off. If they had a round that would knock some one out, so you coud capture him and "interogate" him later. Nothing like that.

I just captured a syringer rifle, and I decided I'd try it out. But the experiment ended when I got to the drug bench and looked at what was needed to make a single round of ammo. Far as I can tell, this weapon is so useless it makes the lousy .38 seem deadly.

Give one to a settler: resolves the ammo issue. Make and give the settler 1 round of something interesting.

the pipe rifle is life do not doubt its power!

as for darts to use, the berserking darts are nice if you sneak up on a group. 1 man goes crazy and the others kill it. and you only needed one shot.

as for the other darts i've found little use, the targets i would use them on are resistant to the effects anyway.

I was going to suggest "berserker".

That's one I missed. Makes a lot of sense and appeals to my sense of humour.

Definitely going to try it.

I like pipe sniper rifles. They're light for one thing. It's not too hard to assemble a suppressed .50 calibre with a recon scope at earlyish levels without the required Gun Nut perks. A suppressor from a pistol, a recon scope from something else and so on.

it has potential. before laying this game down, i considered doing a playthrough with this weapon as a main feature. I could see it useful for those that want a more peaceful approach, since some of the syringe ammo confuses enemies. Could be useful for a survivalist build.

That could be a challenging game. Going from start to finish with only a .38 caliber weapon. In survival mode. I might have to pick up some sort of melee weapon to take out the hard to kill critters.

I haven't really found a use for it either, finally tried it out since I have like 3 short ones(received one from finishing something, others I found) and crafted 100 darts but that was a horrible mistake(as didn't know they took weight, or still used it once it was in the gun, did the same with the junk jet, spawned a bunch of lead because thought would be funny to shoot flaming lead ingots at people but they still count as inventory weight once in the gun, planning on just using pens now for ammo since as far as I know ammo type doesn't change the damage and those weigh nothing so can carry as many as I want). Anyways, crafted 100 bleed out darts and couldn't really find much of a use for them, they were okay with weaker enemies once you shot a couple darts into them but Curie(who I picked to come with me for now) ended up killing half of them before the darts killed them, got down to around 50 darts and tried out the one that increases the damage the enemy takes for 2 minutes but didn't seem to change the bleed out rate(thought it would), so guess that's a dart you shoot at someone then change weapons to finish them(something with lots of health like a deathclaw or something).

Guess there's a use for it somewhere, but I haven't found it in the short time i've used it

That rifle is NOT for directfights. Its an assassin weapon. And a debuffer. You equip it. Debuff your targets and get to fighitng Or watch as they fight eachother.

The microwave emitter and dart guns were my favorite weapons in the previous fallouts, I guess this is just a mix of the two. The ammunition weight might deter some people, and I guess this weapon leans more towards novelty than utility for some people. You don't need many, since you just need one good shot. I think it's an awesome weapon for a Lone Wanderer.

[Edit] One way to look at is it, one syringe for one event. Like if I come across a settlement of raiders and just want to mess with them I fire off a berserk dart. Also, lock-joint dart for the occasional alpha deathclaw encounter. No one played Assassin's Creed Black Flag?

It is not worth the weight to carry. Arming Settlers with them is the most fun.

Yes Its a support weapon. You carry a few darts not a million. and its mainly for when you are getting the drop on them or escaping.

It is very useful for farming Legendaries, especially on Survival mode, with the Bloatfly Gland Ammo.

Make a Glass-house in a settlement with an Insect cage inside it. Shoot the insect with Bloatfly ammo and a new one spawns on killing it, with a new gland. Rinse and repeat close to indefinitly. On Survival there is a reasonable high chance a Legendary enemy spawn each time.

With like 30 ish Ammo you can get easily half (15) Legendary Items, and enough Glands to make back half + the ammo used.

Go to Swan, put some debuffs on him, and finish him off with a normal 10mm.

Sneak up on a Super mutant Enforcer or some other very strong enemie and beserk them or debuff them. Beserk on the strongest tank in a group can decimate the whole group.

The Syringer is a side-arm, one needs another set of weapons to do the fighting.

Are you dissatisfied with the legeldaries you have found ? The Syringer lets you , in-a-way, craft your own effects for your specific needs. It is a great fun to use when you get used to it.
