But that means waiting until the items show up at a vendor and you have the caps. Also without fast travel its hard to keep checking vendors so you'll need to know at what level the items you want will start to appear and where.
But if you know that then you should be good to go.
That said, I'll bet there is a lot of bulk in your build. Things like both rifleman and commando (you really don't need both.) If you are using semi-autos then you don't need commando just because of a single gun. Convert it to semi-auto and save the perk points.
And Perks like cap collector and scrapper are not very good perks. You find enough junk and caps without them. I never take these type of perks an I'm always swiming in caps and able to buy junk when I can't find it.
If you're going to do a lot of building then you don't need to put 6 pts in CHA just to get local leader. Just use the points you get from leveling while building to bump up CHA.
I took Lead Belly for survival but it was only useful early in the game as later I was able to cook enough food to never rely upon irradiated food.
And all the 1/2 perks like Lady Killer or Solar Powered are really a waste.
