Is gun nut/armorer/science worth it in survival mode?
Quesitons in title; i'm rounding at about level 25 atm and have already fleshed out most os my desired build; with a few extra points to spend, i was wonderng if gun/armor (science used for laser weapons) were worth their weight in survival mode.

Problem is my build does not naturally include any of these perks, so i would need to put points into their respective SPECIAL areas to unlock them; so wondering if they'd be worth it at that rate.

Thank you

If you don't want to be reliant on finding weapon and armor mods you'll need them. If you don't care about modding weapons then they don't do anything.

I use them in most of my Survival builds for convinence. You can get by without them by purchasing items with the mods you desire and transfering them to your armor and weapons.

But that means waiting until the items show up at a vendor and you have the caps. Also without fast travel its hard to keep checking vendors so you'll need to know at what level the items you want will start to appear and where.

But if you know that then you should be good to go.

That said, I'll bet there is a lot of bulk in your build. Things like both rifleman and commando (you really don't need both.) If you are using semi-autos then you don't need commando just because of a single gun. Convert it to semi-auto and save the perk points.

And Perks like cap collector and scrapper are not very good perks. You find enough junk and caps without them. I never take these type of perks an I'm always swiming in caps and able to buy junk when I can't find it.

If you're going to do a lot of building then you don't need to put 6 pts in CHA just to get local leader. Just use the points you get from leveling while building to bump up CHA.

I took Lead Belly for survival but it was only useful early in the game as later I was able to cook enough food to never rely upon irradiated food.

And all the 1/2 perks like Lady Killer or Solar Powered are really a waste.
