the grove it digs remains the same however I have had in at least one occasion the tail of the ufo wreck point the direction I was at (boston airport) when its flight was triggered. this of course means it must have slid sideways to make the grove in the ground the direction it runs.
If you need an explanation, suddenly changing direction or attempting an emergency teleport wouldn't be out of the question for something based on alien technology.
I'm okay with it; it's just a fun extra, and minor callback to earlier alien references in the Fallout franchise.
I think it's good to have some content that just exists to be its own thing and add some variety and quirkiness to the world as long as it doesn't actively clash with the story.
It *proves* that aliens are actually real things. Giving validity to a vast majority of weird things in the world.
In new Vegas , depending on the perks you had , you find 4 aliens outside their hovering spacecraft , if you caught them '' off guard '' , you could kill and loot them for their weapons .
I can't vouch for FO1 and FO2 'cause I din't play those two .
I also never played 76 ( yet ) but I wouldn't be surprised if Bethesda put a couple of aliens in there two.
I don't about the real world , but their diffidently part of the fallout lore .
Fallout 76 has an event dedicated to the aliens invading. Aliens aren't something you would find normally, but when the event is happening they can be found anywhere on the map as a random encounter, with a big event happening every hour.
As for Fallout 1 and 2, I don't remember there being any aliens like what we have now. But Fallout 1 and 2 also had a lot more special random encounters, like a crashed Star Trek shuttle, the Bridge of Death from Monty Python, an encounter with the 4 Horseman of the Apocalypse, and quite a few other strange encounters. They may have been an alien one in there somewhere.
Edit: There was a random encounter in Fallout 1 with a crashed alien ship, and the skeletal remains of 2 aliens. The living aliens we see (the Zetans) first appeared in Fallout 3.
