XX00881d.setessential 0
XX numbers depend on DLC installation order, or you can just target him in console and use command without <baseID>
And no, NO Companion mods and such thing that make them essential. The problem is only with this one. I have even installed a Faction Maintenace mod atm and made him friendly again( just for test without saving) and even then i can't take over the settlement and with him as companion he still has godmode(bullets just go through him not even hitting him that's not typical godmode of infinite health) and when i want to part with him there is no option to make him go back to specific location - he just automatically goes back to starlight drive in. Something got really bad, he has godmode and is my enemy and i can't take this settlement back because the prompt says: This settlement is not your ally.
BTW he has completely different ID for me its:0600a5b1 [EP].
If you start open season he is non essential, because you CAN'T complete open season without killing him.
The command will not work if you do it any other way, because the setessential command requires a BaseID.
The above is incorrect. See post #7 for correct code.
I suspect the fact that bullets don't damage him is either that the EssentialsTakeNoDamage INI setting is enabled, but if the above doesn't work then it's most likely a mod.
Hmm. Do you have a save from before you dismissed him, to test if he's still immune to bullets? If not, can you try on a fresh, new save?
Meanwhile, I'm gonna send out the Bat-Signal to some other people who know more than myself.
I did try that also but nothing changed, yes he was not immune to bullets -but was kneeling when wounded, but that was long time ago, for now i just managed to work-around by cheating him into making him my friend again - then i had to cheat to ally the workshop at starlight drive in because it still said it is not my ally( because of Gage, he was my enemy + had godmode and was the only "settler" left. Then i just moved him to mechanist lair where he resides now since i don't care about that place. But he is still untouchable. Note when i say godmode i mean bullets go "through" him. Like if somebody is standing behind him i do damage to him not Gage. Something must have happened to him when i started killing the overbosses and the whole "faction" of Nuka World Raiders got mad at me. For example Shank who i also had at other settlement went back to Nuka World some time after i killed the bosses. I found him there when i went back there again - had no problem killling Shank. But Gage just stayed in that settlement and suddenly had godmode and was my enemy.
From the wiki:
After being declared an enemy to the Nuka-World raiders, Porter Gage will no longer be flagged as essential and will be hostile to the Sole Survivor until he is killed. This will only happen if the Sole Survivor has completed An Ambitious Plan, however, on the PC, should the Sole Survivor become an enemy to the Nuka-World raiders before completing the said quest, Gage will not be hostile, and will stand idle in the Fizztop Grille, unable to talk to the Sole Survivor.
That is what I get. Porter just wander around the grill. I think I get that even when I did do Ambitious Plan first but I have not done many NW replays.
Yes, i messed up command structure
it is supposed to be "setessential XX00881d 0"
the thing with ID is if you click on an object you get REFERENCE ID, but every object has it's base ID as well. You need to type base ID which is not shown on the command prompt.
I'll allow myself to cite fallout.fandom.com
"As this requires the NPC's Base ID (and what's shown when they are selected with the console is their Ref ID), use their name and the "help" command to look up their Base ID.
For example, to remove Deacon's essential status, type 'help Deacon 4 npc_', then use the ID it lists for him in the above command."
XX in your case should be 06 as that's what you see in refID (0600a5b1)
Hope this one helps or Out Of Bubblegum is right and completing Ambitious Plan will work. GL
Edit: Just noticed Chief comment to use kill command, that will not work till character is essential. You may try to use "<baseID>.recycleactor" (if I haven't messed structure again, if yes try "recycleactor <baseID>") to disable his "god mode" if needed.
a) remember this is Bugthesda so everything, i mean everything may happen. Be ready to abandon some things
b) if you think you have done everything in that particular quest, you could use "CompleteQuest <QuestID>" (xx027704) or if not "SetStage <QuestID> <StageID>".
There are 4 stages:
15 - fresh start of quest
20 - killed 1 leader
100 - killed all and you are pointed to talk to Mackenzie Bridgeman
255 - completed
Edit: haven't done NW quests in a long while so I have wrongly acknowledged this was Open Season quest, if it is a quest though you can still use option b) just change IDs
Edit2: I have done a small research on google with 'unkillable gage' (not exactly this phraze) and people stated that he becomes killable without command prompt when you send him back to Fizztop in NW (allegedly on Xbox and PS4) so this might be a chance as well to finish him.
