No rain audio

I'm pretty far into a playthrough with no issues until I had to go to the glowing sea. It's then that I noticed the big rad rainstorms were dead silent. Turns out somewhere around that point something had happened to cause ALL weather types to turn silent - UNLESS I'm undercover or inside. I can still hear the 'rain hitting the roof' audio but as I walk away from the building the audio just fades away to silence.

I've verified my cache
I only run one weather mod - True Storms - I've tried uninstalling it and re-installing it.
I don't run any other audio mods.

Any clue on what's happening? It sucks because it's super noticeable when a storm rolls in and its dead silent.

EDIT: So I've found the cause but don't really know how to fix it. Turns out the Brotherhood mission where you first fly to the Prydwen kills the weather audio completely... I really don't know why (I have no vertibird or brotherhood changes whatsoever) and I really don't know how to fix it.

EDIT EDIT: FIXED IT! Still not sure what caused it but I tried calling in a personal vertibird, flew it to Starlight Drive-In then called in some rain before it landed and I could hear it again! Such a baffling scenario but it's sorted now.

So essentially I summoned a vertibird via the vertibird signal grenades you get from the brotherhood (or the Minuteman ending where you kill the brotherhood) and once you take a ride in it the weather audio should come back.

Just seems to be riding in the vertibird for the brotherhood prydwen mission kills the weather sounds for whatever reason so flying in a personal one resets it back to normal
