Can't clear the logging camp (Far Harbour)
Hi, I've been stuck with this mission for months now - it's the optional mission to help the little girl at Far Harbour, there isn't a living thing for about a mile around the place any more and I've been using vats to try and find any glitched out enemies stuck in the map etc.

Can I use a console command, if one exists, to kill all enemies in the immediate area? Every time I go to the workbench it tells me I can't use it until the fog has been dispersed, and that can't happen until the area is clear.

cheers

When doing this quest on my last playthrough, there was one feral who was pretty much underwater and also in a pile of tree debris. Quest marker was there, VATS was useless the only fix was a grenade to wake the feral up. If you have a marker, I'd guess it's the same for you. Look closely before you use console commands.

**Edit: Howdy-doodley-doo!**

I've launched mini nukes all over the place, went nuts with miniguns, grenades, mines, "killall" command and no joy :( The marker doesn't seem to point to anything in particular.

What a pain in the ass!

Would you like a toasted tea-cake?

Is the marker at or near the waterline? Expend your munitions as close to it as possible, the feral might be shielded both by being "asleep" and any possible cover. That's another bready question.

Did you actually throw grenades into the water? That might work.

Yeah I was swimming around for ages, found a few mirelurks or creepers, whatever they are. The Marker only appears when I leave the area and vanishes as soon as I return to the mission area.

Are you able to find a vantage point where you can see with your game eyes where the marker is in 3D space?

Write down the quest name showing in your Pipboy. Exit the game and do a google search for the wiki quest. Write down the quest id and stage numbers. Back in the game, use console command; Player setstage quest id space stage number. Sometimes better to enter each stage in order down to the one you need.

Are you sure you went through all the attic and the basement?

To test if it is actually a hostile that is preventing completion in a game that you do not plan to save and continue on use the console command KAH this should kill all hostiles in the area.

I would not do this on a game that I intend to keep fro a continued playthrough as it could kill something needed by a future quest that is nearby breaking that quest.

It willhowever answer if it is a bug in the quest or something is actually there. Note as for clearing the fog I have only had that happen after I returned to the quest giver and completed the quest.

so it will not be a case of just activating the workshop after all hostiles are killed but the quest should update indicating if it was a stuck creature being marked or one that failed to be enabled.

WHAT THE HELL? He's not some filthy console gamer, good god man, he's a PC gamer. Show some respect. Just teach him to use the console, good sirs!

Seriously dude, just console it. It's Fallout. Feces Occurs. This is not that rare. So your "Turn Back the Fog" is stuck? You're stuck at the very beginning, clearing out Echo Mills? You want to move it to the next step, recognize that every ghoul is dead and be able to go back to Little Bertha? According to the wiki, https://fallout.fandom.com/wiki/Turn_Back_the_Fog#Quest_stages that's stage 200.

So open your console and type: sqt

It will list your current quests, look for the one that says Current quest: DLC03FarHarborS02, and 2 lines after that it'll say something like Target 1: Reference: (??00AEC3), <blah blah>

(there's no way anyone else knows your module load order, so those first two digits are from your setup)

Then just type setstage ??00aec3 200 and close the console...

(if it's not the right quest, use the wiki to search the same, the EditorName and FormID are listed for every quest, and what stages are known.)

Cheers everyone, yeah I have the rocket pack mod for the power armour so tried vantage points, and my helmet shows all living things as red as I'm looking around (even sleepy ghouls) but I can't find any more and the marker vanishes as soon as I enter the mission area so that's useless.

I wasn't aware there was a basement, however, so I might just be a bit stupid?

I tried the "killall" command, which makes whoever it is following me require a stimpack, so that's working but not killing anyone else.

What are these other console commands in aid of? To reset the mission area? That sounds like the best plan at this point. I also have no mods whatsoever by the way.

It really looks like there is something else you have not done yet. Lokk at the info on the quest in the Wiki:

https://fallout.fandom.com/wiki/Turn_Back_the_Fog#Quest_stages

After you have killed them all you must go and talk to Bertha "Before" you can activate the workshop. And on the way you are supposed to meet Malcom, and then you have a choice:
1: Help Malcom Eat settlers, or
2: Bugger Off Malcom and continue to help Bertha.

She will give you the Fog condensers you need to activate the Workbench even if you go Evil on her and eat her settlers

it just moves it to the next stage, as though you've killed them all and walked back. (note you don't even need to go out there, you could feasibly stand in front of bertha and type that, it just puts the checkbox on that one task of the quest line)

PS: Apologies to Be-bop who did explain how for you to do it first, good on ya Bb!

You know, a lot of "mods" aren't really mods at all, they're just people being clever trying to keep gamers stupid, thinking they need to download something when it's just a console command, much like a certain common unlimited flight and no-consuming-AP from your jetpack'ed Power Armor, it's quite simple to make thousands of changes to your gameplay w/o ever needing to download someone's silly attempt at calling a 3-line script a "mod" :-)

I'm getting nothing like that, dude! I've got DLC03Acadia_BoS_Misc, RRR06, DLC04MS01, DLC01MQ04, DLC03Acadia_RR, DNMessageInABottleQuest, MS07B.

I've unticked all other missions in the Data tab of the pipboy. Load door is (03003EDA) for all of them, whatever the tits that means...

Tempted to just go shoot the little girl in the face.

Do it. She's essential, so go right ahead, but you'll have to flee town and sleep for 3 days so they don't auto-aggro when you pop in to town. ha.

It has to be there, scroll up maybe? If it's not on the list, then the quest isn't active and you don't have it; either you haven't gotten it yet, or you've turned it in complete. I swear that's the name. people are pretty anal retentive about getting spelling errors fixed on the wiki in 10 seconds flat.
