Having a weird texture bug specifically on dirty army fatigues
I'm having this texture glitch with the dirty army fatigues where around the sleeves, collar and certain parts of the outfit have this black, grainy, pixelated texture glitch. Any idea what could be causing this?

anything from AA /GodRay settings to mod issues can cause similar symptoms.

You could try the console command "GR off " without the " s and see if it changes something.

other than that you can try advanced settings and adjust the quality of textures etc. to see if one of the settings may be causing the issue. Another possibility is if the graphics driver is trying to manipulate texture related settings or optimizations for the game and either chose the wrong settings or duplicating a setting that steam or the game also performs.

I had some issues that was caused by both my graphics driver and steam trying to apply Shader Pre-caching to the game.

Tried turning off godrays and AA but that didn't seem to do anything.

My graphics drivers are up to date and I tried removing a bunch of mods as well. I checked in FO4Edit to see if any mod conflicts were causing the textures to bork on the clothing but nothing was wrong there.

Do you have a body replacer installed.

I saw similar discoloration on apparel items when I had an issue between the armor/clothes used and a body replacement mod. even the apparel displays would show black parts like that on the apparel I gave them until I resolved the issue by removing a second mod I had that changed the apparel to match the wrong body type.

Essentially there was clipping with the body and the clothes that was displayed as untextured black bits.

Yeah it is a mod issue. Usually when a body customization is done with a CBBE type mod.

Did you use the Bodyslide and apply it? That should correct it.

I did have body replacers installed however removing them didn't do anything to resolve the issue. Thing is this appears ONLY on the one outfit. Everything else is fine. Going to try removing some more mods to see if that helps.

Bodyslide? No. How would I go about applying that?

thing is parts of the mods become part of the save game so removing them midgame can cause issues. I know when I changed from using one body replacer to the another one I had to start a new game because in the save game the npcs actually had their textures shifted and looked like something we would see in some of those modern art paintings (everthing was dostorted and shifted around)

Well I still wasn't able to fix it even after trying just about everything :( I DID however manage to "fix" it by installing another mod. An HD re-texture of the dirty army fatigues in question. Doing so fixed the issue for me. I guess I'll just have to hope this glitch hasn't reared its ugly head on anywhere else.

I am very familiar with this issue, its because of the SavrenX vanilla clothing mod, there is a fix on the modpage but im unsure if it works, I also installed a mod ontop that changes the texture, annoying that some of SavrenX's mods contain this bug and the patches dont seem to work 100% of the time.

Yeah the fix works, I googled and came across this thread as I had the same issue as OP. Downloading the fix file from SavrenX' HD Vanilla Clothing mod fixes the issue.
