Contraption Factory not working
I have no idea what I'm doing wrong.

I've set up a factory to Produce Sub-Machine Guns, Medium Leather Armour and .45 rounds. I dump my junk into a Hopper to begin, but then everything just makes a bee-line directly for the Ammo Machine, and just sits there and stores up every thing.

There is power to all parts... I've used a computer connected to the network to assign specifics to each machine... and all machines lead to a final 'Something' that stores it all into a trunk; but again... it never gets passed the ammo machine.

So... any ideas what the problem may be???

Advanced Thanx!!!

The machines do not normally pass items through them they store what goes in and then when enough for the item gets stored it produces the item.

if another machine is connected rather than a storage or path leading to storage it gets stuck in the next machine.

the only thing I have seen pass items through are mod added scrapping machines that lets us toss a corpse in one end and reduce every thing to basic scrap through a row of different scrapping machines.

The mods

https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/15429

Can expand upon the contraption workshop items as well as adding some new machines.

Well that's pretty sad... it's not very automated!! So it sounds like you can only have a single path designed; which means you need to know what parts you'll get from an item so you'l know which path to place an item on. It would be faster to just dump everything in the Workshop (per normal) and make the Weapons, Armour and Ammo myself. Contraptions just makes in take longer to get the same result.

I may use the above Mods (and Thank you for those links); but I just spent a good 6 or so hours designing a factory, that apparently can only make one item at a time (assuming I take the time to determine which salvage to use)... and I paid for that privilege!!!! :(

I went ahead and installed the first mod (Manufacturing Extended), but the other two require ALL DLCs. Since these mods are actually only about Contraptions, I'm wondering if the Other DLCs are actually necessary, or if they are just being listed because the Mod creator had them installed when they created the Mod.

Any idea what would happen if I installed those two mods without having Automatron, Far Harbor and/or NukaWorld???

load your Junk into the Hopper, have the Hopper connected to a Component Sorter. open the Sorter and put 1 each ingredient of what you need to build the Ammo/Weapon/etc. have the straight path led to a Conveyor Storage, and the bent path led to your __ Forge. use a computer to state what you're building w the Forge and then a Storage at the end of it. this will return all the junk unused to the first Storage, if it has "copper, steel, or asbestos" (ie) it will be inside the Forge until it has enuf of each component and then your finished products will be caught in the last Storage. you can also use the computer to set the speed of the conveyor or the force of items outa the Hopper, helpful for some junk. larger or odd shape junk you might want to break bfr you load them, as they will fall off the track. most of my problems of this being the Fishing Rods, Extinguishers, and Giddyup ponies. if you're wanting to make more than one product, you have to check that each doesn't use a component that a prior Forge would require. keep extending the Sorters until build enuf of them for each Forge and load as appropriately. have the most important Forge closest to the Hopper as the larger junk that has shared components would be routed to it first, regardless of other ingredients.

I thin kit requires them because they either include the ability to make items from the DLC or used a model or other asset from the DLC in creating the machines.

Ouch!! Oh Yeah... That's not complicated at all :(. Though I "Think" I now understand what I was doing wrong. Major Thanx and Crossed fingers :).

If you could use the other mods the one that adds mining and refining machines actually eleminte having to come up with junk and can create a continuous production of course it is far more complicated to set up and requires individual power and terminals for each product we want from the same type of mine or refiner.
