Vortex Mods not loading for FO4
So i ran into this issue after reinstalling FO4 on the D: Drive instead of the C: Drive. I loaded up Vortex to check on all my mods and got a deployment notification saying they needed to be on the same drive. I moved it over to the C: Drive, as well as moving the mod staging folder via Vortex. Now Vortex isnt making a fuss about anything but when i boot up FO4 still none of my mods are loaded in. Any suggestions?

I am the biggest idiot rn. My mods plugins weren't enabled... Thanks so much for all the help and all the time you've invested in helping me.

I have the exact same issue half a year later now. However, I have all my mods enabled. All paths are correct and did everything in every tutorial available. It just won't work, at all. Does anybody know anything more?

Make sure they're actually enabled in the plugins section, might look enabled if you look in mods but its the plugins section which shows if its enabled or not.

Mods = INSTALLED or not.
Plugins = ENABLED or not.

Could be done a little better but hey.

As an aside, don't forget to hit sort once they are enabled so the load order is setup or the usual issues occur.

Hey there, as I wrote the few mods are really enabled. I only used Nexus back in the day. Vortex, well... So far it tells me the correct game path and an installation folder which is not the game folder but on the same m.2. F4SE is installed and the game is started from Vortex with F4SE. All mods have been installed and enabled afterwards. Also the game does not seem to use the mods I installed from ingame, although I enabled those in Vortex as well. It is a bit weird - I never had issues with Nexus.

I know this is a slightly old thread but I had this same issue. The fix that worked for me was changing from a Hardlink deployment over to a Move deployment. This is an experimental feature and the issues are explained on Vortex but this is the only method I had work for me.

You can change the Deployment method by [Opening Vortex, Going over to the General tab, Select Settings, Mods Tab, and then Deployment Method]

I don't usually post on forums but I couldn't find this solution anywhere else and it took quite a while of just tinkering around to figure this out. I figure it can help save somebody else the trouble.

This worked for me aswell, as soon as I picked move deployment and opened the game and loaded a save, it actually gave me the "You're playing with mods so achievements will be disabled" notification, thank you!

I know am late to the party but the most obvious fix is to check your plugins bar in the vortex mod manager and try to enable all those other esms or ESP because they have problems sometimes especially when you switch off your system prematurely. I hope this helps

Not only are you very tardy, you're also off topic. The original post was motivated by someone using a mod manager without understanding how it works and suffering the consequences. Vortex uses NTFS hardlinks to deploy mods, and those ONLY work if both Vortex and games are on the same drive. Unlike the newer symbolic links, hardlinks have no means like URI to reference data on other volumes.
