Best place to find .50 Cal?

Made a sniper character who is almost finished. However, .50 Caliber bullets don't seem to appear that often, and I have modded my snipers to use them...

Does anyone know a good place to buy/loot/find .50 caliber bullets?

you can perk to find more from safe's ....or it just starts happening after some lvl or something

They are a little rarer than othr ammo--all my play-thrus have been sniper builds and yeah, this is a pain. I just make sure to buy any and all from any vendors. I hit Dimond City and go to Arturo, Myrna and Percy, then KLEO, Daisy and Rufus in Goodneighbor. And the vendors in Far Harbor is you have that dlc. Cricket sometimes stocks them, but Eleanor (near Fairline HIll Estate) for some reason rarely if ever does in my game. Tinker Tom will sell them too. I don't go BoS so I don't recall if Teagan sells them but I suspect he does.

That perk is great, if you use ammo for bartering as I do, but the rate of .50 ammo is still very low.

at one point most safe were giving me 50cal ...like 10 shells a pop...i dont know why?i thought it was normal up till now

I've noticed Arturo begins to sell 20-30 bullets of .50 caliber after the quest "Unlikely Valentine" is completed. I'll have to look into it, but my vast amounts of purified water back at the house sure do make for some sweet caps.

I only took the level 1 scrounger perk and I'm swarming in .50 cal ammo.

i found a explosive combat shotgun now i have no need for much ammo , but if l shoot too close it kils me......

With the finder perk tht gets you extra ammo found. Then look for those Ammo Boxes. The above mentiond Traveling merchants and shop vendors are also good places . More so after you Perk mercantile skills.

.50 cal is a disappointment.
You should be able to one shot even a friggen death claw or some freaking raider in power-armor. That has gone unrealistically stupid.

I'm okay with unrealistic .50cal power for as long as Sniping is stupidly easy. If you want one-shot everything .50cal sniper shots, I want differential calculus to be a mandatory part of getting a shot on target at ranges > 100m

.50 cal rounds do not show up at vendors until you reach a certain level. I'm not sure the exact level but it is > 30 and may be as high as lvl 40. The same is true for ammo boxes and containers.

This is by design. You are supposed to use smaller rounds in earlier levels and advance up to heavier rounds in later ones.

With that said, Scrounger perk will impact the frequency of finding .50 cal ammo in boxes. The description of this perk is a bit deceiving. You don't find more of the same ammo but rather you find an additional type of ammo in the same box. For example, my experience is that instead of finding 25 rounds of .38 instead of 15 rounds, you find 15 rounds of .38 and 10 rounds of .50 cal or some other type of ammo.

I believe they started appearing when I was around level 16-17.
