The game 'disappear' after click 'play' in game launcher(solved)
Recently I bought a new desktop to replace my old laptop, downloaded the game three days ago but the game failed to launch as it supposed to be. Whenever I click the 'play' button in game launcher. It just go black screen for a few seconds, like its loading but I cant see n hear anything, then suddently jump back to desktop and the game just shut down on itself, no any error message and no something like "Fallout just stopped working", nothing, it just disappeared :/

I tried to solve this issue in the past two days but nothing works, unfortunately. What I have tried includes:
close my anti-virus software, didnt work.
change video settings into windowed n borderless, didnt work.
delete and reinstall the game, took me a day :( didnt work.
run this game in Windows safe mode, didnt work
update windows 10, didnt work.
disable SLI and use just one card to run the game, didnt work.
updated my video card driver to the newest 357.50, still cant get this game working....

This confused me a lot because I also played quite a few other games on this pc since I bought it back, including World of Warcraft, Overwatch, Battlefield 4 and 1, Dead by Daylight etc, they all works fine, except Fallout 4 (Maybe I should also try Fallout 3 and NV, see if they works or not :/) I tried to search on Google to see if there is any solution to my problem, but as far as I can see most crashes are caused by mods, because this is a new computer and there is no mods been installed, so I would assume it is not applicable to my situation.

I am using 6700K, 32GB RAM and GTX1080 SLI so I definitely met the requirement to run this game.

Please help :(

Edit: In the end the problem is cause by that "Steam Overlay" thing, I disabled it(several times) and the game runs well now.
Hope this can help ppl who has same problem as I got here :)

No guarantee's any of it will work, but it's probably something stupid and simple.

Sounds like you have a good rig.

Just ran through your list and unfortunately the problem is still here... But thanks a lot for you help here mate, highly appreciated!

I also tried the solution from another person who posted in the link you given to me, still cant fix it.

It is weird that I just tried with my old laptop and I can run this game without any problem, it has 4620 and 960M, a bit older, but no problems. I compared them and I think the biggest difference between my two system is the version of video card drivers they using, my laptop is still using the driver from early 2015, and my desktop is on the newest version of course. I wonder if this is the cause of it. But I tried the earliest driver that 1080 can run which is 368.25 from May 2016, still not working. Maybe if I should go and contact Bethesda and see if those new drivers are really supported by the game(I think so, but just double check).

Anyway, thanks a lot for your help :)

New drivers are fully supported.

You could try optimising in Geforce Experience.

Are you OCing anything because that can cause problems.

You have added Fallout4.exe to your Nvidia Control Panel, 3d settings ?

Prefer maximum performance.

Single display performance.

No, havn't use 3D on this pc yet, I just checked my 3D list and its empty
Prefer maximum performance checked.

Try uninstalling GeForce Experience. This will not affect your drivers, it will just get rid of the nVidia overlay.

Worth a try, although it doesn't affect most people.

I removed it because I don't want Nvidia spying on me

Oh, and I forgot to add, after you uninstall it, make sure you RESTART before you try launching the game. this will make sure that the nVidia client service is stopped.

I dunno why, but it works now!

The cause of this issue is steam overlay I think, but I am 100% sure I tried this one but it didnt work, have no idea how I get my problem solved in this way now...No idea, probably my computer hates me so it decide to trick me? Or because I havnt spend even 1 cent in the last summer sale? (nah just a joke)

I was completely confused and feel frustrated, so what I did is just sitting there and click anything I can click on steam because I am bored, meanwhile try to think what else can I do. During this process(lol) I clicked the "Enable steam overlay" a few times, yes, quite a few times I guess, then I tried to open the game before I go and contact game developer, it works, omg it works now. I am pretty sure I tried to disable steam overlay but its no use about an hour ago, but glad I get the problem fix now :DDDDDDD

So if anyone have similar problem like I have right there, please just go and disable the steam overlay for Fallout 4. How to do it is right click Fallout 4 in your library, and then choose 'Properties', then you can find it in the menu.

Thank you so much for helping me here guys, highly appriciated! :DDDDD

Have a good day:)

Thanks a lot mate, I tried but this is not the cause of my problem.
In the end its cause by that steam overlay thing... Have no idea why it can make game crashes, but anyway:/

Have a good day!
